Thriveworks is full of amazing employees. Even the person that answered my first call was incredible, compassionate and sought out the best possible options for my situation. I've been going weekly 3 months and will likely continue for years!

Mr Sachs has been outstanding with his handling of our sessions. Personally, I believe that therapy/ counseling is truly a personal experience and the therapist needs to be matched to the patient as much as the patient with the therapist. I feel like he was a perfect fit for what we needed with our sessions.

Family therapy FAQs

How much does Thriveworks cost?

Clients who use insurance often only owe a copay—which is typically $20-$50 per session. However, the exact cost of each service varies based on your payment method (insurance or self-pay). From there, it will depend on your insurance plan’s specific deductible and co-pay or your provider’s specific self-pay rate.

What are the self-pay rates at Thriveworks?

If you don’t have insurance or your plan doesn’t cover mental health services, you can use self-pay instead.

Below is our self-pay breakdown by service and state. You can also find the exact self-pay rate for each clinician on their profile, and we can provide this information over the phone, too — so that you can make an informed, confident decision before scheduling with us.

What happens if our therapist doesn’t feel like the right fit?

If you feel like your family therapist isn’t the right fit, you can reach out to our support center and they can seamlessly set you up with a new provider, no questions asked. You can also request a referral from your current provider, or browse our online booking for a provider who better suits you and your family’s needs.

Does Thriveworks offer online therapy?

Yes, we offer both in-person therapy and online therapy options, depending on your preference and needs.

How do I talk to my family about starting therapy?

If your family members feel hesitant about couples therapy, or need encouragement, make sure they know that you are willing to learn and grow alongside them and that it’s their choice whether or not they attend. It can also be helpful to discuss the rewards of family therapy, allowing them to develop a personal stake in the outcome.

What happens if something comes up and we need to cancel an appointment?

Clients are required to reschedule or cancel their appointments at least 48 hours in advance. Failure to do so may result in a late cancellation fee of $135 under the following circumstances:

Cancelling or rescheduling within 48 hours of the appointment.
Not showing up for the scheduled appointment. Being more than 10 minutes late for a 30-minute appointment or 15 minutes late for a 60-minute appointment, unless the session is resumed and care is delivered.

This policy is designed to provide clients with the flexibility to make last-minute changes when necessary.
