About
As a lifelong Idahoan, I understand the struggle to find mental health care and I returned to my home state to be a provider for those seeking a compassionate and empathetic counselor.
I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) with 8 years of experience supporting individuals as they navigate anxiety, OCD, depression, and relationship and family concerns. I believe the therapeutic relationship is one of the most important factors in meaningful change, and I work collaboratively with clients to clarify their goals and align their values with the life they want to build.
I earned my master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Northern Arizona University. My work is grounded in a cognitive behavioral framework, with treatment tailored to each individual’s needs. I frequently use exposure and response prevention therapy, particularly when working with clients experiencing anxiety and OCD.
I strive to create a supportive, empowering environment where you feel understood and challenged in healthy ways. Together, we will identify effective strategies to enhance your well-being and strengthen your confidence as you move forward. I look forward to partnering with you on your path toward meaningful and lasting growth.

I have worked in inpatient, outpatient, and group treatment settings, and I have extensive experience working with military veterans, law enforcement, first responders, and individuals affected by post-traumatic stress. I help clients navigate stress, anxiety, trauma, addiction, and anger by creating a safe, supportive, and grounded space where meaningful healing and introspection can begin.
I earned my master’s in social work from Northwest Nazarene University, where I developed a strong foundation in evidence-based practices and client-centered care. My approach includes talk therapy, supportive services, lifestyle changes, healthy living planning, activity scheduling, outdoor engagement, and meditation to help clients reach their goals.

Family therapy helps families resolve conflicts and strengthen their relationships. It is led by qualified mental health professionals like psychologists, licensed professional counselors (LPCs), and licensed clinical social workers (LCSWs) who have extensive training in family dynamics and group communication.
Thriveworks family therapists in Boise, ID usually begin by asking what everyone’s goals are for family counseling. Family members may need help with very specific issues or with general relationship functioning. But there are three main purposes in family counseling: to educate, to counsel, and to strengthen. Thriveworks also offers online family therapy and in-person services, so you may all meet in an office together or join a video call from your home depending on everyone’s location and availability.
The most effective form of Family therapy will often depend on the family itself, as there are many types of family therapy for therapists to use as they see fit in order to best meet the needs of their clients. However, one of the most commonly used types of family therapy is structural family therapy (SFT). SFT focuses specifically on family dynamics and interactions, looking at how they shape the relationships and structure present in the family. It can be effectively used to treat a variety of concerns.
This answer often looks different to each family that starts family therapy. However, some signs that your family might need to consider family counseling include frequent fights or misunderstandings, constant tension, experiencing loss, behavioral issues, marital issues, divorce, and blended family issues, among others.
In family therapy, therapists will often start by asking questions and assessing individual and family dynamics. From there, they may employ therapeutic techniques such as structured family therapy, CBT, strategic family therapy, and more depending on the present concerns and conflicts. From there, a therapist will work to open lines of communication between family members and facilitate emotional healing and growth.
Family therapy can be incredibly successful, with some studies reporting a success rate of almost 90% for improving participants’ emotional and mental health, and around 66% for improving their physical health.
Thriveworks therapists in Boise, ID offer both online family therapy and in-person family therapy. We encourage you to choose the option that works best for you.
Family therapy is usually short term and solution-focused, with most families accomplishing their goals in 12 sessions or fewer. However, it can also last for longer if the probles at hand are more complex — and that’s okay, too.

In doing so, they will also utilize a variety of different therapeutic methods and techniques such as traditional talk therapy, art therapy, child therapy, and more.
Family therapy is often short-term meaning you could be finished in as little as nine sessions. Although, every family and their needs are different so don’t be discouraged if you need more time. We encourage you to not put pressure on these sessions and go into them with an open mind, ready to make meaningful changes.
Deciding to pursue therapy is often a difficult decision for family members. If you want to start therapy and are having a hard time convincing members of the family that this is a good idea, try explaining to them what it means to you to try. Also, explain to them the many different ways that therapy can help, including helping you work through things like…
