Victor Taylor is a Licensed Professional Counselor with 8 years of experience. He specializes in anxiety and depression and helps clients navigate the complexities of these mental health challenges. Victor’s ideal client feels overwhelmed by persistent feelings of worry and sadness and is seeking a supportive and understanding environment to explore these symptoms. They may struggle with daily functioning, experience difficulty in relationships, or find it hard to enjoy activities they once loved. The primary goal is to create a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can openly discuss their thoughts and feelings.
Victor received his Master’s in Clinical Mental Health from Old Dominion University. Through evidence-based techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness practices, Victor works with clients to identify and challenge negative thought patterns, develop coping strategies, and build confidence.
Victor’s goal is to empower others to regain control over their lives, improve their emotional well being, and achieve a greater sense of balance and fulfillment. By addressing both the symptoms and underlying causes of anxiety and depression, clients will move towards a healthier and more hopeful future.

Christine Fatherree, LCSW, brings over 25 years of experience in the mental health field, working in a variety of roles to support adult clients seeking growth, healing, and clarity. She is deeply committed to helping individuals explore their concerns and make meaningful changes in their lives.

Selene Alvarado is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 10 years of experience. Her ideal client is someone who is struggling with depressive symptoms and needs to learn new coping skills in order to manage their depression. Their goal would be to be able to implement a variety of techniques to better help them get through their problems.
Selene has a Master of Science in Social Work San from Jose State University. She focuses on self-reflection and looking at ways clients can build their self-confidence. Through your relationship, you and her will focus on what is the most important thing for the client to improve.
As a Hispanic woman, Selene understands what the stigma is in Hispanic culture related to mental health. However, there is no shame in needing support and guidance. Mental health is just as important as our physical health. We all need someone at some point to help guide us through difficult periods of our lives.
You deserve dedicated time with a mental health professional — it can be life-changing.

My go-to approach for helping people in PTSD/trauma therapy is person-centered therapy. I prefer person-centered therapy because it allows the client to go at their speed, and be the owner of their experiences.
I teach the following tools in PTSD/trauma therapy: mindfulness (identifying how the body feels), creating safe places, and identifying and expressing emotions.
I know a client is making meaningful progress in PTSD/trauma therapy when they are able to not let their experience take a drastic toll on them.
Clients can supplement their time in PTSD/trauma therapy by keeping a journal of what their feelings and thoughts are.
To prepare for their first PTSD/trauma therapy session, someone can have an idea of what they would like to accomplish with therapy.
At Thriveworks, Trauma/PTSD therapy involves dedicated efforts to address and navigate through past and/or recent traumatic events. Therapists specializing in trauma create a secure environment to process and heal from these experiences, aiming to reduce trauma-related symptoms and enhance overall quality of life.
Our Thriveworks providers use Trauma/PTSD therapy treatments like eye movement desensitization and reprocessing EMDR, CBT, and exposure therapy with the goal of helping clients process the traumatic events they have experienced so that they can to start feeling safe and secure again.
The symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) can vary but often include:
The best way to overcome PTSD triggers is to seek the assistance of a professional therapist, such as those at Thriveworks, who can help you to understand and treat your PTSD triggers.
In most cases, a therapist who specializes in Trauma/PTSD therapy is the best type of mental health professional to address the symptoms of PTSD.
PTSD/trauma therapy at Thriveworks is conducted both in person and online by video. We encourage you to choose the option that works best for you.
If a client is working through a single traumatic event that occurred as an adult, trauma or PTSD therapy may only take a few months, but in general, it can take a year or more to effectively treat trauma symptoms and PTSD. The duration of treatment is highly dependent on the client and the severity of their symptoms.
The success rate of therapy for PTSD depends entirely on the individual’s symptoms, commitment to attending sessions, and personal abilities.
