I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate with 4 years of experience supporting individuals and families through times of challenge and change. My background includes providing care in both academic and correctional settings, where I focused on family connection, emotional regulation, and rehabilitation. My master’s internship was at a male correctional facility, where I worked in both group and individual settings focused on emotional growth and resilience. I’m passionate about helping clients navigate learning and developmental disabilities, build coping skills, and find renewed purpose in their healing journey.

Yes, there are therapists who help with anger via Anger management therapy. It’s a therapeutic process that an individual goes through to manage their anger and identify its triggers. They’re given clear instructions on how to improve their angry behavior as well as a safe space for opening up about their emotions.
Once an individual’s triggers are identified, anger management therapy focuses on helping the individual process and respond to these emotions in a more positive and productive manner. The anger management therapist will provide coping strategies and ultimately help their client take back control of their anger.
The five keys to mastering anger include identifying triggers, pausing before reacting, calmly expressing emotions, discovering constructive outlets for frustration, and seeking professional assistance if necessary. Acquiring these skills through Anger management therapy empowers individuals to effectively manage and navigate their anger.

When people try to handle their anger problems on their own, they often believe that the solution is to find ways not to feel anger. While this may seem like a good goal the reality is that anger typically can’t be avoided altogether: it’s an emotion that everyone feels.
So if you can’t avoid anger there’s no hope, right? Wrong. The reality is that your top goal should be to find ways to deal with anger in healthy ways. That’s where anger counseling comes in. The blame shouldn’t be placed on the anger itself but on the behaviors that follow it. Whether it’s mild irritation or extreme rage, there are always options. You don’t have to respond aggressively or violently. You don’t have to feel out of control.
An anger counselor can start by assessing your anger. He or she will look at factors like the triggers for your anger, the frequency with which you feel anger, and the levels of your anger. They can then find the path forward that will deal with your specific causes of anger.
Imagine if you could respond to situations that frustrate you without getting out of control. Imagine if you could remain relaxed, peaceful, and calm as you express why something is frustrating to you. In anger counseling you’ll get a personalized approach but it will likely involve work to help you recognize your triggers.
