Kenneth Fulton-Resig is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Behavioral Specialist in the state of Pennsylvania with over 10 years of experience working in the mental health field. He treats individuals from pre-teens to older adults, working with diverse individuals and backgrounds. Kenneth’s work history includes helping individuals in the LGBTQIA+ community as well as others with trauma, dissociation, anxiety, life transitions, depression, sexuality, alternative lifestyles, sexual dysfunction, and much more.
Kenneth graduated with honors from Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor's in psychology, where his focus area of study was the transgender community and unique problems faced by the community. He also graduated with honors from Capella University with a master's of science in mental health counseling. He is currently working on his PhD in counseling education and supervision at Capella University.
Kenneth believes therapy has benefits no matter what life transition you are experiencing. He tends to use cognitive behavioral therapy as his base technique; however, he has a large toolbox of techniques to pull from to help individuals.
As a gay male Kenneth has the unique experience to help equip him to work with LGBTQIA+ individuals. He believes that each individual and every situation is unique and that there is not a one size fits all approach to mental health. He provides a holistic approach that evaluates the client as a whole and not just by the symptoms they experience. His goal is to meet you where you are as a client and promote positive change in your life.

I am a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT) with 3 years of experience supporting individuals, couples, and families through anxiety, relationship challenges, life transitions, depression, and parenting concerns. I help clients explore their emotions, strengthen their connections, and develop healthier patterns in their daily lives. My goal is to create a warm, collaborative, and grounded space where you can gain insight, build new skills, and feel more empowered in your healing journey.
I earned my master’s in marriage and family therapy from Capella University. I draw from cognitive behavioral therapy, somatic therapy, and emotion-focused techniques to support deeper awareness and lasting change. Together, we will identify patterns that no longer serve you and create balance in your life.
Reaching out for support is a brave step, and you do not have to face life’s challenges alone. Healing and growth are possible. Therapy can be a meaningful step toward the change you’re seeking, and it is an honor to walk alongside you. Together, we can create the space you need to heal, grow, and thrive.

Relationship counseling, also known as couples-therapy and marriage counseling, helps couples work through their specific relationship issues. It is led by licensed professionals — often licensed marriage and family therapists (LMFTs) — who are experts in their field and best equipped to help couples. Some examples of common focuses within relationship counseling include:
Relationship counseling works by helping couples identify and better navigate their unique challenges. Following an initial assessment of the couple in terms of strengths and needs, the therapist would then discuss their therapeutic goals and any possible approaches or ways of working together as therapist and couple.Couples attend sessions together, whether they meet in person or by video. In addition to regular couples therapy sessions, each partner may also be asked to attend a few individual sessions to supplement their progress. This will allow their counselor to get to know each individual better, assess each of their personal needs, and develop the very best treatment plan moving forward.
Thriveworks relationship counseling in Bethlehem is conducted both in person and virtually via online counseling. We encourage you to choose the option that works best for you and your partner.
On average, couples attend relationship counseling for 12 weeks. However, relationship counseling may last longer or shorter, dependent on the couples’ needs, the challenges they’d like to work through, and the pace of their progress.
If you think that your relationship has taken a turn for the worst or is headed in the wrong direction, a counselor or psychologist at Thriveworks Bethlehem in Lehigh can help. Our providers have the training, the expertise, and the experience to assist you—whether you and your partner want to work on improving your relationship or you need help moving forward individually from the troubling experience. Whatever the case, a counselor can help you to heal from your toxic relationship.
As mentioned above, identifying toxicity in a relationship isn’t always easy. That said, there are some tell-tale signs of an unhealthy dynamic. These include (but are certainly not limited to) the following:
If the above are present in your relationship, it’s possible that your relationship is headed down a dark path. And if you don’t make the necessary changes soon, you’ll likely experience distress in other areas of your life (if you haven’t already). Oftentimes, individuals in an unhealthy relationship will also suffer at work, school, and/or in other relationships—especially if there is a power differential.
A power differential means there isn’t an equal distribution of power—in relationships, this means that one partner holds power and administers control over the other. When this power differential is present, it’s often more difficult for one to seek help, as he or she is typically led to believe by their partner that they are at fault. This makes understanding red flags—some of which are listed above—especially important.
Here at Thriveworks, we believe that anybody can benefit from working with a skilled and caring mental health professional: such as those who seek treatment for mental disorders, those who’d like some guidance in their career path, and, of course, those who need help in their relationships. In any case, the counselor can help their clients to identify the problem that is causing them harm as well as a solution for managing that problem.
When it comes to toxic relationships specifically, counseling can unfold in a few different ways, depending on:
In any case, the counselors at Thriveworks will dedicate their time and work to helping you determine what’s best for your life moving forward: whether that’s going your separate ways, transforming your relationship for the better, or learning to live a healthier life post-breakup.
