As a Black woman, I understand how systems impact and limit marginalized groups. My commitment to wellness has a profound impression on how I empower others to balance their emotions, critical thinking, spirituality and authenticity.
My career path began in the retail/wholesale industry, which created a path for me in therapy. I’ve worked in roles in ministry, education, and leadership, and have immersed myself in critical race theory, history, and the Black experience. I’ve worked with a wide range of clients of different races, cultures, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Much of my confidence in working with people from all walks of life was inspired by my upbringing. I grew up a military brat, which made me more social and adaptable. I understand trauma does not escape the human experience, but effort and will are the ingredients for healing and transformation.
My approach is rooted in person-centered therapy and CBT, though I have grown into a more eclectic practice that allows for broader interventions and coping strategies. More recently, I have integrated internal family systems (IFS), somatic experiencing, and EMDR techniques to best meet each client where they are.
If you have found yourself on this page, I hope you will act with the same courage that brought you here. In that act of bravery, you have the opportunity to experience all that possibility can give to you. Our journey in therapy will not be easy, but it is an alliance that is unforgettable and rewarding.

Career counseling can last for weeks, months, or even years. It all depends on the goals that you’re looking to accomplish and whether you continue to want/need a counselor to help you reach your goals. Either way, our career counselors are here and ready to help you get on the right track.
In a perfect world, we would intuitively know what career was right for us. All we would have to do then would be to pursue it. But we don’t live in a perfect, and quite often choosing a career or changing one’s profession is anything but simple. For some it is tough, for others it’s daunting to the point of impossible. Nothing is impossible of course, but it can feel like that at times for those who have lost their way. This is where career counseling can really be of help.
The good news is that there are many vocational counseling services around these days, such as career counseling at Thriveworks Baltimore, MD. All these services are there to help folks take charge of their lives and make better decisions about their career path.
Three of the main psychological challenges people face include:
Any of these things can toss up a roadblock and stall a person’s progress. Sometimes they may not know why they’re having problems with choosing a career or securing a job. All they know is that they’re finding the task unpleasant, daunting and stressful.
The more people run problems over in their own heads, the worse a situation can become. The only way to take positive action is when there’s a positive outlook. Sinking deeper into the problem will never find anyone the solutions they’re looking for. This is why it can be so good to talk to someone else, especially someone qualified to help.
Career counseling offers a place to explore the various factors that contribute to career choices. The first thing a good counselor will do is discuss the individual’s attributes:
Once the above areas are covered, the foundation is set to move on and build a specific plan of action. Call Baltimore career counseling today and set up an appointment.
