About
As a nurse practitioner who has spent years walking beside individuals through vulnerable moments, I offer a warm, supportive space where you can feel safe, valued, and understood.
I am a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) with 6 years of nursing experience supporting clients through anxiety, depression, trauma, and life stressors. I work with teens and adults, and my approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in creating a safe, culturally sensitive space where you feel heard, supported, and empowered to work toward your goals. I focus on helping clients build stability and confidence.
I earned my master’s degree in nursing from Walden University. My approach includes evidence-based medication management along with cognitive behavioral strategies, dialectical behavior skills, and a calm, patient-centered style to guide treatment.
Reaching out for support is a brave step, and you deserve care that feels safe, steady, and compassionate. I’m here to listen, guide, and walk with you as you move toward healing. When you’re ready, I would be honored to support you on your path forward.

I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with 7 years of experience, and I am qualified to diagnose, treat, and prescribe medication for adolescents and adults. I specialize in depression, anxiety, PTSD, insomnia, and bipolar disorder. My approach blends evidence-based psychiatric care with supportive guidance, helping clients feel seen, heard, and empowered as whole individuals rather than a collection of symptoms.
I earned my Doctorate in Nursing from New Mexico State University. I use evidence-based treatment, prescribing up-to-date psychiatric medications alongside lifestyle recommendations such as nutrition, exercise, and stress-management strategies. I believe deeply in the mind-body-spirit connection and caring for the whole person.

My go-to approach for helping people in couples/marriage counseling is attachment-based therapy and a relational model. I find this is the best way to connect and support couples in learning to be more compassionate with each other so they go from a place of fighting and creating 'either/or' solutions to actively listening to each other and rejoining as partners to find 'both/and' solutions for their problems.
In couples therapy, the tools we use are meditation and mindfulness for awareness. We use gratitude practices to help clients connect more with the things they enjoy about their partners and learn to share those with each other. We use positive communication and couples dialogue in order to start expressing feelings without attacking the other. We also use several regulation techniques and breaks in order to help decrease escalation within the relationship.
It is clear to see that couples are making progress when they are no longer taking each other's emotions and pain personally. They are able to communicate about the struggles they are having and work together in order to create those 'both/and' solutions. It is also a significant indicator that things are getting better when they stop seeing each other as enemies and are reconnected as supports for each other.
During their off time, clients can practice the homework and any communications skills that are needed in order to solidify the skills. They can also write down problems that are hard to resolve so the fighting doesn't continue between sessions.
In preparing for your first session, take time to recognize that this is not about proving your partner wrong but working to understand and connect with your partner as well as being open to finding new ways to express yourself in order to get yourself heard as well. Couples therapy requires both individuals to make changes in order to heal and improve the relationship.
Couples therapy and marriage counseling, also known as relationship counseling, helps couples work through their specific relationship issues. Some examples of common focuses within couples therapy and marriage counseling include:

At Thriveworks, Couples/marriage therapy is led by licensed professionals — often licensed marriage and family therapists (LMFTs) — who are experts in their field and best-equipped to help couples.
The Gottman Method of couples therapy is a research-supported approach designed to enhance relationships by bolstering the bond between partners, resolving conflicts, and fostering shared meaning in their relationship through comprehensive assessments and tailored interventions that improve communication, trust, and the overall health of the partnership.
If you’re facing persistent relationship problems, communication breakdowns, or unresolved conflicts that are impacting your emotional well-being and happiness, Couples/marriage therapy may be beneficial for you.
While marriage and couple’s counseling is typically recommended for couples who are experiencing persistent or severe relationship issues, any relationship can benefit from attending these sessions.
Marriage and couples counseling at Thriveworks is conducted both in person and online by video. We encourage you to choose the option that works best for you and your partner.
On average, couples attend marriage and couples counseling for 12 weeks. However, couples & marriage counseling may last longer or shorter, dependent on the couples’ needs, the challenges they’d like to work through, and the pace of their progress.
