About
I know what it feels like to hold everything together while silently struggling inside, and that is why I create a space where you can finally exhale, be seen, and start healing at your own pace.
I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) with 4 years of experience supporting clients through life transitions, stress, anxiety, relationship challenges, and emotional healing. I work with adults and adolescents and strive to create a space where you feel seen, respected, and understood. My approach is warm, collaborative, and focused on helping you gain clarity, strengthen self-awareness, and build tools that support lasting change.
I earned my master's degree in counseling from Nova Southeastern University, where I gained a strong foundation in evidence-based practices. My therapeutic approach draws from cognitive-behavioral techniques, mindfulness-based strategies, and person-centered care, allowing me to tailor sessions to your unique needs and goals.
My goal is to partner with you as you navigate challenges, uncover patterns, and create meaningful shifts in your life. Together, we will build a plan that supports your growth, confidence, and emotional well-being. You deserve support that honors your story, and I look forward to helping you take the next step toward healing.

As someone who experienced various kinds of trauma and who has had to deal with numerous life transitions and reinventions, I know the deep pain of feeling stuck and lost.
I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) with 12 years of experience supporting individuals navigating anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, trauma, anger, life transitions, substance use concerns, neurodivergence, and LGBTQ+ issues. I work with adults from diverse backgrounds and bring a creative, inclusive lens to therapy that honors each client’s unique experiences and strengths.
I earned my master’s degree in social work from New Mexico State University. My approach is person-centered, solution-focused, strength-based, and trauma-informed. I incorporate CBT, DBT skills, psychodynamic techniques, and somatic work to help clients better understand their thoughts, emotions, and nervous system responses.
My goal is to create a space where you feel heard, affirmed, and safe as you move through growth and healing. Together, we will build on your strengths, develop practical tools, and identify meaningful steps forward. I invite you to take the next step and schedule an appointment so we can begin this work together.

Erin Schovanec is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), dance/movement therapist, and certified Yoga Therapist who has 16 years of experience as an expressive and creative mental health professional. Erin’s clinical experience has ranged in various treatment settings including outpatient therapy, Treatment Foster Care, and residential treatment. She has served children, adolescents, and adults experiencing symptoms related to attachment, anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance abuse.
Erin completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Dance Education magna cum laude at the University of Central Oklahoma and her Master of Arts (MA) in Dance/Movement Therapy and Counseling Psychology at Antioch New England Graduate School. Erin’s personal hobbies include dancing, teaching group exercise, and running.
Erin's clinical approach is solution-focused, person-centered, with the utilization of positive psychology and cognitive behavioral techniques. In addition, as a movement therapist, Erin’s therapeutic approach stems from a mind-body perspective, in that there is an inner relationship between the physical body and our thoughts and emotions. In order to heal, one has to “move through” challenging barriers with open awareness and self-compassion to develop a deeper understanding of one’s self. This healing process contributes to more meaningful relationships and greater connection to self and others.

My usual style for individual therapy is to first work on self-care, attachment, and education. I use several modalities from this. I find the skills and tools I provide benefit a client's growth, healing, and awareness because they allow them to understand, explore, and find answers to their feelings in a way that works best for them.
I use the following tools in therapy.
I know that clients are starting to make progress when their emotions become more natural to them, they feel less uncomfortable in expressing them, they feel empowered, and we start to see their ability to work through problems in a way that allows them to choose their response rather than just react.
During your time in therapy, I will frequently be giving homework and building skills with you. If you use your time to focus on and build those skills and practices, you will start to grow faster than you would just doing them in therapy.
To prepare for your first session, the thing I would say is most important is to try and stay open and remember that things are going to be uncomfortable. This will get easier over time, and you have the courage and strength inside of you to come get support for the changes you want to make in your world!
Individual therapy, also known as Individual therapy, allows people to engage in private sessions with a skilled therapist, counselor, or psychologist. The core objective of individual therapy is to establish a secure and confidential setting where you can openly discuss whatever emotional, psychological, or behavioral challenges you face. Through these one-on-one sessions, the client and therapist work together to delve into, comprehend, and ultimately find solutions for the issues at hand in their life.
Individual therapy unfolds in a structured process, commencing with an initial assessment in which the therapist gathers essential information about your history, concerns, and objectives. Together, you and your therapist collaboratively establish specific, attainable goals for your sessions, which can encompass symptom alleviation, personal development, or finding solutions to particular challenges.
Yes, individual therapy, also known as Individual therapy, at Thriveworks can help you to improve your mental health and overall quality of life.
Individual therapy at Thriveworks is conducted both in person and via Online therapy. We encourage you to choose the option that works best for you.
The duration of your individual therapy sessions will vary. The decision on the number and frequency of sessions is typically collaboratively determined by the client and therapist.
