About
As a nurse practitioner who has spent years walking beside individuals through vulnerable moments, I offer a warm, supportive space where you can feel safe, valued, and understood.
I am a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) with 6 years of nursing experience supporting clients through anxiety, depression, trauma, and life stressors. I work with teens and adults, and my approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in creating a safe, culturally sensitive space where you feel heard, supported, and empowered to work toward your goals. I focus on helping clients build stability and confidence.
I earned my master’s degree in nursing from Walden University. My approach includes evidence-based medication management along with cognitive behavioral strategies, dialectical behavior skills, and a calm, patient-centered style to guide treatment.
Reaching out for support is a brave step, and you deserve care that feels safe, steady, and compassionate. I’m here to listen, guide, and walk with you as you move toward healing. When you’re ready, I would be honored to support you on your path forward.

My go-to approach for working with anxiety is to use regulation tools, increase emotional intelligence regarding how anxiety works, and help heal any wounds from trauma that cause anxiety. I prefer this style as I find it provides long-term understanding and effective skills to deal with, manage, and eventually minimize or eliminate anxiety.
I teach several skills in anxiety therapy, including meditation/mindfulness, sensory awareness and processing, perception shifting, time regulation and context, emotional education, as well as some breathing practices. I also use neuron formation skills in order to create new behavioral patterns.
I know a client is making progress with their anxiety when they are more able to tolerate emotions, they have a better understanding of where the anxiety is coming from, their anxiety doesn't feel uncontrollable, and they are starting to naturally find solutions to their anxiety struggles outside of therapy time.
The biggest things clients can do outside of therapy are practice the homework and focus on building skills and slowing things down to process them.
To prepare for a first session, open yourself up to the idea that things may be uncomfortable, but you are here to get support, which is nothing to be embarrassed about or ashamed of. Many people struggle with this, and it's okay to need help!
Anxiety therapy helps people better understand and manage their anxiety. Anxiety therapists at Thriveworks in Albuquerque, NM can develop a treatment plan that will help you better manage your day-to-day anxiety or your anxiety disorder.
Anxiety therapy involves talking to a therapist about symptoms, potential causes, and more. Thriveworks Albuquerque therapists will then work with you to determine where your anxiety might stem from and teach you effective coping mechanisms.
One of the best ways to deal with anxiety is to learn about your own anxiety: your symptoms, what triggers it, and what coping mechanisms have been effective in the past. When you learn what your anxiety is tied to, it can help you be mindful of what’s really happening as well as prevent and mitigate symptoms by processing and working through the issue in therapy. Other strategies that have been shown to help manage anxiety are meditation, challenging anxious thoughts, exercising, and journaling.
Common symptoms of anxiety include:
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) can be incredibly effective in treating anxiety and anxiety disorders. Other effective techniques include exposure therapy, Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and EMDR therapy.
Anxiety therapy is conducted both in person and online, depending on the individual’s preferences and their therapist’s availability. We suggest choosing the option that best suits your needs.
On average, people can tend to attend 15 to 20 session of anxiety therapy (five or more months). However, this number is heavily dependent on the type of anxiety that’s being treated and its severity, with many choosing to attend anxiety therapy for a longer period of time to ensure its effectiveness long-term.
