About
I bring a compassion and a nonjudgmental approach as we work together, combining both professional training and lived experience. I'm here to listen, meet you where you are, and help make changes that feel genuinely right for your life.
I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Addiction Counselor with over 20 years of experience in behavioral health, working in both inpatient and outpatient settings with children, families, and adults. I have a passion for teaching and have had the privilege of supervising students and teaching at the Academy for Addiction Professionals. I typically work with clients navigating anxiety, depression, addiction, trauma, anger, bereavement, life transitions, and relationship challenges who may feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how to move forward.
My style is warm, down-to-earth, and collaborative. I tailor my approach to each person's needs, blending CBT, DBT, person-centered therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Internal Family Systems with a client-centered style. Together, we can build healthy coping skills, explore patterns holding you back, and make changes that feel realistic and meaningful.
Seeking help takes courage and is an important first step toward healing and growth. It's easy to get caught up in autopilot and forget to focus on yourself. In our work together, we'll build a supportive relationship where you can explore your feelings, notice where you feel stuck, and create space for positive change.

From personal and professional experience, I have found that the more transparent and truthful you are to yourself, the easier it is to work through issues and find peace.
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 20 years of experience supporting individuals, couples, and families through life’s challenges. My passion lies in helping people identify barriers to personal growth, improve emotional balance, and enhance their overall well-being. I specialize in working with adults and couples navigating issues such as anxiety, depression, codependency, life transitions, and communication difficulties in relationships.
I earned a Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Palm Beach Atlantic University. My therapeutic approach is collaborative and focused on teaching practical tools that clients can apply in their daily lives. I believe in open, honest communication and often provide exercises between sessions to reinforce the skills we explore together.
Our first session will be a welcoming introduction where I get to know you, your background, and your goals. My goal is to create a safe and supportive space where you can freely express yourself. Together, we’ll work toward identifying what’s standing in your way and build a path toward stability, success, and a more fulfilling life, one step at a time.
You deserve dedicated time with a mental health professional — it can be life-changing.

My go-to approach for helping people in DBT therapy is to explain the benefits and give an overview of some tools they will be learning, such as emotional regulation, frustration tolerance, radical acceptance, and mindfulness. I find the best benefit is finding a tool that works for the client, and once they start using the tool, they can see the benefit.
One of the main tools I teach in DBT is mindfulness. Mindfulness is teaching the client to stay in the present moment, recognizing they have no control over things that happened in the past but they can learn from them; worrying about the future increases anxiety and wastes time. The only control a person has is in their current surroundings. I teach the importance of recognizing your surroundings to help slow down your brain and concentrate on the present.
I know a client is making meaningful progress in DBT when they share that their anxiety has decreased — less racing thoughts and “what if” statements — and is progressing toward their goals.
Clients can supplement their time in DBT by reading books or listening podcasts about DBT.
To prepare for their first DBT session, an individual just needs to be open-minded to trying new tools.
At Thriveworks, Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) primarily concentrates on assisting individuals in emotion regulation, enhancing interpersonal relationships, and acquiring effective coping strategies for managing stress and emotional difficulties.
Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) targets your personal challenges. You may work with your DBT therapist to maintain diary cards to monitor progress, emphasizing validation and support in the therapeutic relationship. DBT follows a stage-based approach, prioritizing crisis reduction initially and life satisfaction.
DBT was initially developed to address the needs of individuals with borderline personality disorder (BPD). However, its versatile approach has enabled its application to a wide range of mental health conditions, including but not limited to, anxiety, depression, stress, and anger issues.
The 4 pillars of DBT are mindfulness, emotion regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, and distress tolerance.
Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) have distinct purposes and aren’t inherently superior or inferior to one another. DBT is most effective for managing emotional regulation, personality disorders, and interpersonal challenges, while EMDR is specifically tailored for individuals with trauma-related conditions like post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) with therapists at Thriveworks in West Palm Beach, FL is conducted both in person and online by video. We encourage you to choose the option that works best for you.
The duration of a standard DBT program is typically around 24 weeks, which is roughly six months. The actual number of sessions will vary depending on the issues you wish to address.
