About
As a 45-year-old African American woman navigating menopause, motherhood, and marriage, I bring lived wisdom, clinical insight, and a deep calling to walk alongside other women 35 and up as they reclaim their voice, vitality, and vision.
I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) with 12 years of experience supporting individuals, families, and communities through compassionate, culturally responsive care. I specialize in helping clients navigate life transitions, anxiety, depression, stress, parenting challenges, identity development, and healing from past emotional wounds. I create a warm, emotionally safe space where clients can reconnect with themselves, restore their energy, and imagine what’s possible.
I hold a master’s in social work from Louisiana State University. My approach is collaborative, practical, and grounded in evidence-based methods, including cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and strength-based, mindfulness-informed care. I provide insight-building psychoeducation and tools clients can use beyond the therapy room.
Whether you are facing a tough season, supporting your child, or simply needing a space to feel heard, I am here to help. I offer a grounded, compassionate approach that meets you where you are and supports meaningful progress at your pace. When you are ready, I welcome you to take the next step and schedule a session with me.

Andrew received his Master's of Social Work from SUNO School of Social Work. He has also experienced what it is like to be affected by mental health personally and believes this gives him an advantage as a service provider.
Andrew incorporates a variety of techniques into treatment including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), mindfulness-based, and strength-based approaches. "I believe that mental health is just as important as physical health and there should be no stigma in seeking assistance," he says. OCD counseling is a specialized therapeutic approach aimed at supporting individuals coping with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). The goal of this counseling is to help clients manage and alleviate the distressing symptoms of OCD by systematically addressing their obsessive thought patterns and compulsive behaviors.
In OCD counseling, Thriveworks Shreveport therapists use cognitive behavioral techniques, including exposure and response prevention, to assist you in addressing and managing your obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviors. An OCD therapist will collaborate with you to identify and modify irrational thought patterns while gradually and gently exposing you to anxiety-triggering situations, helping to disrupt the cycle of obsessive-compulsive rituals and promote healthier coping strategies.
Thriveworks OCD counseling in Shreveport, LA is conducted both in person and online by video. We encourage you to choose the option that works best for you.
The number of sessions for OCD counseling is variable, contingent upon the individual’s unique needs, the severity of their condition, and their progress during treatment. Typically, Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), commonly used for OCD, comprises around 12 to 16 weekly sessions, but the exact session count can be customized based on the individual’s response to treatment and therapeutic objectives. Some opt for a more extended duration to comprehensively manage symptoms and address complex issues.
