Having experienced personal trauma and loss, I have a deep, authentic understanding of how painful life circumstances affect us—and how cultivating new life skills can help us regain strength and empowerment.
I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) with 15 years of experience supporting children, adolescents, and adults in individual, group, and family settings. My clinical focus includes trauma, grief and loss, adverse life experiences, and emotional regulation. I have extensive experience working with children, teens, and families involved in the foster care system, as well as individuals impacted by complex trauma and life transitions.
I earned my master’s degree in community counseling from the University of Texas at San Antonio. My work is grounded in trauma-informed, holistic, person-centered, and CBT-based approaches that emphasize safety, trust, empowerment, and resilience. I have experience supporting clients navigating psychiatric treatment programs and juvenile justice systems.

My go-to approach for helping people in individual therapy is providing clients with a safe space to learn about themselves and what is hindering them. I find the best benefit in allowing clients to choose what they would like to talk about because it allows me as the clinician to get to know them better.
I teach the following tools in individual therapy: psychoeducation (information about the diagnosis), self-awareness (checklist), grounding techniques (worksheets), and emotional regulation (understanding and naming emotions).
I know a client is making meaningful progress in individual therapy when they are able to use the skills taught in everyday life and are able to recognize that they used them in an appropriate situation.
Clients can supplement their time in individual therapy by practicing and incorporating their learned coping skills in everyday situations.

Individual therapy at Thriveworks is conducted both in person and via Online therapy. We encourage you to choose the option that works best for you.
The duration of your individual therapy sessions will vary. The decision on the number and frequency of sessions is typically collaboratively determined by the client and therapist.
At Thriveworks, we accept most major insurance plans, allowing many clients to pay as little as $0–$50 per session with their co-pay. We also offer self-pay options for those out-of-network or without insurance. Self-pay rates for talk therapy range from $160 to $240 for intake sessions and $135 to $195 for follow-ups, depending on your state. For psychiatry services, self-pay intake sessions are $255–$375, with follow-ups ranging from $175–$300, also varying by state.
