About
As a therapist I work to form a warm, caring, and collaborative therapeutic relationship with you to build on your strengths and understand all of you - mind, body, heart, and spirit - so that I am able to assist you in meeting your goals and living the meaningful life you seek and desire.
Patricia Robison is a Licensed Psychologist (LP) in the state of Maryland with more than 15 years of experience working with young adults and adults seeking assistance with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, identity issues, transition issues, stress, grief, and loss.
She earned her MA and Ph.D. degrees in psychology from the Fielding Graduate University. She also has a Ph.D. in Pharmacology from Thomas Jefferson University and certifications from the Barbara Brennan School of Healing and the Center for Mind-Body Medicine. Patricia uses an integral approach with key insights and interventions from pharmacological, psychodynamic, cognitive, humanistic, existential, multicultural, and transpersonal approaches to psychotherapy. This inclusive stance confronts the breadth of psychological complexity and meets the needs of each unique person without blending the approaches into one.
Patricia seeks to form a warm, caring, and collaborative therapeutic relationship with you to build on your strengths and understand you–mind, body, heart, and spirit–so that she is able to help you meet your goals and live the meaningful life you seek and desire.

I am honored to take this journey with you. I chose this career in part because of my own transformative experience with counseling as a young teenager, and I strive to provide that same sense of support, understanding, and positive change for those I work with.
I am a licensed clinical professional counselor (LPC) with 27 years of experience in the mental health field. I work with individuals, couples, and families navigating PTSD, anxiety, relational concerns, and life transitions. My background includes work across inpatient settings, private practice, and community-based care, with a recent focus on supporting first responders, military families, and individuals seeking healthier relationships and emotional well-being.
I earned my doctorate in couple and family therapy from Drexel University in Philadelphia, where my research focused on intergenerational patterns within families. My clinical approach is client-centered and grounded in curiosity, compassion, and trust, with an emphasis on creating a safe, supportive space for meaningful exploration and growth.
I believe healing happens through strong therapeutic relationships built on safety and collaboration. I will work with you to focus on your priorities, explore difficult experiences at your pace, and support personal and relational growth. Seeking therapy is a courageous step, and I am honored to support you in that process.

My name is John DeHart, and I am a licensed psychologist with 14 years of experience. I work primarily with adults, college students, millennials, individuals who identify as neurodivergent or creative, and members of the LGBTQ+ community. I often help clients navigate life transitions, attachment and relationship issues, depression, anxiety, and concerns related to sexuality. While I adapt my approach to meet each person’s needs, my training is rooted in psychodynamic theory. I believe in a holistic and depth-oriented approach to therapy, one that explores the underlying causes of symptoms to create lasting change.
I earned my doctorate from Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia and have trained at several colleges and community mental health agencies. My experience spans both rural and urban settings, which has given me perspective on the unique challenges people face in different environments. As a gay man living with chronic health issues, I am particularly sensitive to matters related to sexuality, diversity, and health, and I strive to bring that awareness into my work with every client.
I understand that connecting with a new provider can feel intimidating. My goal is to create a laid-back, safe, and supportive environment where you can confront challenges openly and begin making meaningful, sustainable changes in your life. I look forward to connecting with you and invite you to reach out to schedule an appointment when you feel ready.
You deserve dedicated time with a mental health professional — it can be life-changing.

James recently got a new job that is a step up from his previous role. Part of the position involves managing meetings for his team. But every time he leads a meeting, he notices that his heart races and he’s tripping over words when speaking. Worried that something might be wrong, James reaches out to a psychiatrist to see what’s happening.
James is diagnosed with an anxiety disorder after a few sessions. Working with his psychiatrist, he learns techniques to help him cope with the added stress of his new position. After a few sessions, James is able to start leading meetings with more confidence and without as much discomfort.
Anxiety is very common but it can become a problem when it starts to interfere with your life. Anxiety disorders are more than the occasional worry or fear –– they’re mental health conditions that can disrupt work, school, and personal relationships.
Thankfully, anxiety is treatable by a licensed anxiety psychiatrist. If you’re experiencing mental distress, consider working with a psychiatrist from Thriveworks Counseling in Nottingham, MD.
Occasional anxiety is normal and healthy. You might be anxious if you make a mistake at work or after you get into a fight with a friend. But extreme anxiety that interferes with your daily life can be considered an anxiety disorder.
The causes of an anxiety disorder can vary from person to person. Sometimes, traumatic life experiences can be a contributing factor, as can genetics and a family history of mental health issues.
People with anxiety disorders experience a variety of symptoms and anxiety doesn’t look the same for everyone. However, here are some common anxiety-related symptoms:
These symptoms can be normal in the right situation –– like before a major presentation or during a high-stress sporting event. But people who suffer from anxiety disorders may experience these symptoms almost every day and in response to any situation. Working with a psychiatrist from Thriveworks Counseling in Nottingham, MD could be beneficial if anxiety symptoms are getting in the way of your day-to-day life.
Anxiety might seem scary but there is good news: anxiety disorders are treatable. Psychiatrists are medical doctors who are trained to diagnose and treat mental, emotional, and behavioral health issues. The most common anxiety treatments involve talk therapy, prescription medication, or a mixture of different treatment modalities.
Your first appointment with an anxiety psychiatrist will involve your provider getting to know you and any mental health problems you’ve been experiencing. After the initial session, your psychiatrist can create an individualized treatment plan with your needs in mind. Future sessions could involve learning new stress reduction techniques or discussing how to alleviate a symptom you’re experiencing.
Medication is another component of anxiety treatment for some people. Not all treatment plans will include a prescription, and you don’t have to take anything if you’re hesitant about medication. However, if medication is a good fit for your situation, your psychiatrist can prescribe it to you directly and walk you through what to expect in terms of side effects and potential benefits. It might take a few tries to find the best medication for you but your provider will carefully monitor how you respond to your medication and find the right fit.
