My own experiences with trauma allow me to offer deeper empathy and understanding, and because I know the courage it takes to seek help, I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where every client feels heard, valued, and appreciated.
I am an LCSW, LCADC, CCS, and SAP with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a minor in Substance Abuse Counseling from Ramapo College of NJ (2012), and a Master's degree in Social Work with a concentration in Substance Abuse Counseling from Rutgers University. I have extensive experience across inpatient, IOP, and PHP levels of care, working with individuals ages 10 through adulthood, and progressed from therapist to Clinical Director. I specialize in the treatment of anxiety, depression, adjustment disorders, mood disorders, and personality disorders, and am committed to providing compassionate, client-centered care.
I utilize a range of evidence-based modalities, primarily Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing. Through compassion, empathy, and collaborative effort, I support individuals in their healing process and am honored to walk alongside them on their journey toward lasting wellness.
Taking the first step toward support can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to do it alone. I strive to create a warm, safe, and supportive space where you feel heard and valued. Healing is possible, and together we can work toward meaningful growth and lasting change at a pace that feels right for you.

Drawing from my experiences as a mother of 3 children (1 of whom is on the autism spectrum)and my own journey through loss and teenage depression, I understand firsthand the importance of compassion, resilience, and hope in the healing process.
I am a Licensed Associate Counselor in New Jersey with 4 years of experience. I work with children, teens, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, and mood disorders with psychotic features. I also specialize in supporting neurodiverse individuals, including those on the autism spectrum, helping them strengthen coping skills, emotional regulation, and self-confidence through empathy and collaboration.
I earned my Master’s in Counseling from the University of Phoenix. My approach is person-centered, blending cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and mindfulness-based strategies. I strive to create a warm, inclusive space where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered to achieve emotional growth.
I bring personal and professional insight to my work. I understand the challenges families face and help them find balance, connection, and hope. My goal is to guide each client toward peace, confidence, and meaningful, lasting change.

Relationship counseling, also known as couples-therapy and marriage counseling, helps couples work through their specific relationship issues. It is led by licensed professionals — often licensed marriage and family therapists (LMFTs) — who are experts in their field and best equipped to help couples. Some examples of common focuses within relationship counseling include:
Relationship counseling works by helping couples identify and better navigate their unique challenges. Following an initial assessment of the couple in terms of strengths and needs, the therapist would then discuss their therapeutic goals and any possible approaches or ways of working together as therapist and couple.Couples attend sessions together, whether they meet in person or by video. In addition to regular couples therapy sessions, each partner may also be asked to attend a few individual sessions to supplement their progress. This will allow their counselor to get to know each individual better, assess each of their personal needs, and develop the very best treatment plan moving forward.
Thriveworks relationship counseling in Toms River is conducted both in person and virtually via online counseling. We encourage you to choose the option that works best for you and your partner.
On average, couples attend relationship counseling for 12 weeks. However, relationship counseling may last longer or shorter, dependent on the couples’ needs, the challenges they’d like to work through, and the pace of their progress.
Relationships are a huge part of our lives. From our partner in life to our coworkers- they are impossible to avoid. Some of them might be rather inconsequential, like your relationship with the local, and some might be instrumental in shaping your present and future life, like your significant other.
Romantic relationships are truly spectacular and beautiful- two unique human lives coming together to interact on a daily basis with love and trust is a wonderful thing. But partly because of their power in our lives, they can too easily become corrupted. All that love turns to hurt, the trust to lying, and the respect to shame. The beauty of human interconnectedness also makes it messy.
Couples counseling is a way to make the messy beautiful again and restore the love that you once had. With the right tools and practices, your relationship can heal and grow to become something stronger. Thriveworks in Toms River is excited to meet you both and begin working on a future of safety and contentment. For more information or to schedule an appointment, give us a call at 732-852-4977.
Most of the couples we see come into therapy because of tension in their relationship. This is not the only reason couples might seek counseling; whatever your reasoning behind going to counseling, it is welcome at Thriveworks in Toms River. Premarital, relationship issues, or preparing for a big change- we’ve seen it all!
If you are reading this and considering counseling, then you have that spark in you that is necessary for healing a strained relationship. Or maybe you’re still confused if there is actually a problem in your relationship, or if the problem is just you. Signs a relationship has taken a turn for the worse include:
These are all possible symptoms of a much larger problem: your relationship. But don’t worry, large doesn’t mean untouchable. Some common issues our Toms River relationship counselors help couples walk through include:
Whatever you are dealing with- whether big or small- matters. Toms River couples’ therapists offer a safe, nonjudgmental space for you and your loved one to heal and grow.
Thriveworks in Toms River practices a client-first philosophy. This means that counseling is not a one-size fits all. Your situation, goals, individual personality, and relationship function are all vital parts of a successful therapeutic process. Toms River counseling strives to meet you where you are at and build a plan that will get you where you want to go in a healthy, lasting way.
Because of that, the first step in couples therapy is often to talk to you and your partner about what couples therapy will look like. We’ll talk through your goals, possible setbacks, and some action steps. In Thriveworks in Toms River, counseling is a partnership, not a dictatorship. Our couple’s therapists are the experts in relationship psychology and all the techniques that will help your relationship, but you are still the expert on yourself and your relationship, which is an equally important part to the session.
Loving relationships are life-giving. But a toxic relationship can be life-taking. If your relationship doesn’t fill you up anymore, if it even harms you mentally or emotionally, Thriveworks in Toms River counseling is here for you. We are excited to meet you and your partner.
