What is your go-to approach for PTSD/trauma therapy?

The approach I use most frequently in treating trauma/PTSD is EMDR therapy. Over the years, I have found this to be quite effective, as it is more likely to address the root source of the problem.

What tools do you teach in PTSD/trauma therapy?

As a certified EMDR therapist, I guide clients through the 8-phase process of treatment to help them reach their goal of healing. Part of the 8 phases includes practical tools and information that help with emotional regulation.

How do you know when a client is making meaningful progress in PTSD/trauma therapy?

What can clients do in their personal time to supplement PTSD/trauma therapy?

Once provided with emotional regulation tools, daily practice will empower clients to have more control over their lives.

What should someone do to prepare for starting PTSD/trauma therapy?

Education is very important in EMDR therapy. The more a client knows and understands the process, the better they will be able to participate in the therapy.

Thriveworks helped me realize that I do believe people can change. I’m not the person I was three months ago, broken and fearful. I’m healthy and happy and for the first time being kind to myself. Thank you for giving me my life back.
