She has completed additional training programs focused on counseling family members of people with terminal illnesses. Katie also has a passion for working with members of the LGBTQ+ community and has experience working with people of all age groups.

Katie received her Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Winthrop University. Her counseling approach combines cognitive behavioral therapy and a person-centered approach. Depending on the client's needs, she also utilizes narrative therapy, attachment theory, internal family systems therapy, and play therapy for young children ages 4-12.
