Robin Carlock is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC) who specializes in treating addiction, mental health symptoms, trauma/post-traumatic stress syndrome (PTSD), life transitions, women’s issues, and LGBTQ+ or other sexuality issues in adolescents, teens, and adults. In Robin’s career, she has worked with individuals, couples, and families providing clinical assessment and therapeutic interventions.
Robin completed her Master of Social Work (MSW) at Monmouth University. In addition to being a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC), Robin is also problem gambling certified. She is empathic and provides a safe space to explore sensitive topics. She encourages her clients to exercise their creativity, personal beliefs, and cultural practices for the best success rates. Robin traveled abroad and stayed in Spain for some time, which helped her gain skills in cultural competence, and she has integrated this into her style.
Robin hopes to create a therapeutic relationship that makes you feel safe within sessions and to assist in reaching your goals. Two of her top priorities are maintaining confidentiality and providing a nonjudgmental space for you to vent about any and all subjects. Robin utilizes multiple modalities of evidenced-based practices to provide the best care. Her therapeutic style consists of strength-based, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness practices, motivational interviewing, and positive psychology. She promotes a client-centered and holistic approach to incorporate the mind and body into treatment. Robin believes that therapy is a place for growth and patience for yourself to see the growth to happen.

I consider it a sacred privilege to assist my clients in finding best solutions to the emotional, situational, and spiritual difficulties they are facing.
I provide psychotherapy for adults navigating anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, grief, and life's deeper existential questions. I know that reaching out for support takes real courage—allowing yourself to be vulnerable with a stranger about what matters most is no small thing. I recognize the privilege of walking alongside you during this time, and I'm committed to providing the highest quality care as you work toward meaningful change. Finding the right therapist is about finding the right connection, and I believe therapy should be as unique as you are.
I bring a trans-disciplinary perspective shaped by formal education in social work, psychology, theater, and literature—an approach that honors the full complexity of human experience. I primarily work within third-wave cognitive behavioral frameworks, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy, and Compassion-Focused Therapy.
My work is flexible and collaborative. You define what you need and want at every point in our journey together, and we tailor our approach to fit your specific goals and circumstances. My job, ultimately, is to become obsolete to you—to help you build the skills, insights, and confidence to navigate your life with authenticity and resilience.

I believe that every patient’s journey is unique and deserves a personalized approach to healing.
I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 13 years of nursing experience. My career began in the emergency room, where I spent a decade caring for patients and families during moments of crisis. Those experiences taught me that every individual’s story is unique, and healing requires more than a one-size-fits-all approach. Today, I bring that same perspective into psychiatry, creating a space where clients feel supported, understood, and empowered on their path to wellness.
I earned my Master’s in Nursing from Walden University, and I provide psychiatric care with a focus on individualized treatment planning. My approach blends clinical expertise with compassion, ensuring that I understand each client’s unique needs, strengths, and challenges while working together toward meaningful progress.
My goal is to create a safe, welcoming space where clients feel truly heard. I strive to partner with individuals in developing treatment plans that fit their lives and empower them to achieve lasting wellness. I believe in walking alongside each client, offering support, encouragement, and a personalized path to healing.
You deserve dedicated time with a mental health professional — it can be life-changing.

OCD counseling is a specialized therapeutic approach aimed at supporting individuals coping with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). The goal of this counseling is to help clients manage and alleviate the distressing symptoms of OCD by systematically addressing their obsessive thought patterns and compulsive behaviors.
In OCD counseling, Thriveworks Red Bank therapists use cognitive behavioral techniques, including exposure and response prevention, to assist you in addressing and managing your obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviors. An OCD therapist will collaborate with you to identify and modify irrational thought patterns while gradually and gently exposing you to anxiety-triggering situations, helping to disrupt the cycle of obsessive-compulsive rituals and promote healthier coping strategies.
Thriveworks OCD counseling in Red Bank, NJ is conducted both in person and online by video. We encourage you to choose the option that works best for you.
The number of sessions for OCD counseling is variable, contingent upon the individual’s unique needs, the severity of their condition, and their progress during treatment. Typically, Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), commonly used for OCD, comprises around 12 to 16 weekly sessions, but the exact session count can be customized based on the individual’s response to treatment and therapeutic objectives. Some opt for a more extended duration to comprehensively manage symptoms and address complex issues.
