About
I know how difficult life can be, and I have valuable skills to meet you where you are and help you move in the direction of the life you want to live.
I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) with 4 years of experience in the mental health field. I work with adolescents and adults facing concerns such as depression, anxiety, trauma, OCD, self-esteem challenges, and identity-related stressors. My background includes experience in substance use treatment, where I supported individuals with complex and co-occurring concerns. I also have experience providing family and couples counseling focused on communication and conflict resolution. My therapeutic approach is person-centered and collaborative, recognizing you as the expert on your own life.
I earned my master’s degree in psychology with a concentration in clinical counseling from The Citadel. I utilize evidence-based approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, trauma-focused interventions, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, and motivational interviewing.
I strive to create a safe, supportive space where you feel heard, respected, and empowered. Whether you are seeking direction, clarity, or simply someone to walk alongside you during a difficult season, I am here to support your growth and healing. Together, we can work toward meaningful change that aligns with your values and goals, starting with taking the first step to schedule an appointment.

My go-to approach for helping people in trauma therapy is first and foremost to create a safe environment for the client to tell their story. With children, I utilize TF-CBT to address their trauma. With adults, I have found it beneficial to utilize aspects of different modalities to help clients work through their trauma.
In trauma therapy, I teach grounding techniques and mindfulness to help cope with the trauma reminders/triggers, the importance of self-care as they go through the healing process and beyond, and additional ways to cope with the trauma.
I know a client is making meaningful progress in PTSD/trauma therapy when they are feeling more open and comfortable in sessions.
Clients can supplement their time in PTSD/trauma therapy with self-care activities they find beneficial. It is also helpful to do some journaling in between sessions to further process things or take note of things they would like to bring up in the next session.
To prepare for their first PTSD/trauma therapy session, someone can acknowledge that they are taking the first big step in the healing process and come to the session knowing they are in a safe place where they can share freely without fear of judgment.
At Thriveworks, Trauma/PTSD therapy involves dedicated efforts to address and navigate through past and/or recent traumatic events. Therapists specializing in trauma create a secure environment to process and heal from these experiences, aiming to reduce trauma-related symptoms and enhance overall quality of life.
Our Thriveworks providers use Trauma/PTSD therapy treatments like eye movement desensitization and reprocessing EMDR, CBT, and exposure therapy with the goal of helping clients process the traumatic events they have experienced so that they can to start feeling safe and secure again.
The symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) can vary but often include:
The best way to overcome PTSD triggers is to seek the assistance of a professional therapist, such as those at Thriveworks, who can help you to understand and treat your PTSD triggers.

If a client is working through a single traumatic event that occurred as an adult, trauma or PTSD therapy may only take a few months, but in general, it can take a year or more to effectively treat trauma symptoms and PTSD. The duration of treatment is highly dependent on the client and the severity of their symptoms.
The success rate of therapy for PTSD depends entirely on the individual’s symptoms, commitment to attending sessions, and personal abilities.
