I’m so glad you’re here! I’m Sue Ann McCray, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master’s degree from Boston University. I graduated in 2017, and I have 8+ years of experience supporting adolescents, teens, and adults facing trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, stress, relationship challenges, and life transitions. I also work with those in early recovery from substance use. I provide individual therapy, creating a collaborative, reflective space to build insight, resilience, coping skills, and personal growth.
My approach is client-centered, trauma-informed, and grounded in compassion, acceptance, and respect. I use evidence-based methods tailored to each individual’s needs, to help clients feel seen, heard, and empowered to pursue meaningful, lasting growth.
My care style is warm and collaborative. I create a safe, supportive space where you can feel heard and understood as we work toward meaningful change. Brianna Lewis is a Resident in Counselling with 3 years of experience in the mental health field. She specializes in helping individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, marital and relationship problems, day-to-day stressors, and LGBTQ+-focused issues. As a lover of learning, Brianna enjoys having a diverse caseload where she can serve clients with different backgrounds. My go-to approach for helping people in individual therapy is to have a person-centered approach, and I find the best benefit of this approach is that there is individualized personal care based on the primary needs of the patient.
I teach the following skills in individual therapy: coping skills, emotional regulation, ways to emotionally decompress, grounding, and mindfulness.
I know a client is making meaningful progress due to the patient expressing an improved level of functioning, completing assessments based on symptoms and diagnosis, and seeing improvements based on scores.
Clients can supplement their time in individual therapy by completing journaling exercises, completing homework assigned in session, and identifying and practicing self-care techniques learned in session.

Individual therapy at Thriveworks is conducted both in person and via Online therapy. We encourage you to choose the option that works best for you.
The duration of your individual therapy sessions will vary. The decision on the number and frequency of sessions is typically collaboratively determined by the client and therapist.
At Thriveworks, we accept most major insurance plans, allowing many clients to pay as little as $0–$50 per session with their co-pay. We also offer self-pay options for those out-of-network or without insurance. Self-pay rates for talk therapy range from $160 to $240 for intake sessions and $135 to $195 for follow-ups, depending on your state. For psychiatry services, self-pay intake sessions are $255–$375, with follow-ups ranging from $175–$300, also varying by state.
