About
As someone who has observed a great deal of loss, trauma, and hurt, especially with occupational workers, I have a sincere dedication to assist those who desire healing.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 29 years of experience supporting children, adolescents, and adults through life’s most difficult challenges. Over the years, I have worked extensively with individuals facing trauma, depression, anxiety, grief, and relationship concerns. My goal is to create a safe and supportive environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to build healthier coping strategies while moving toward a life of resilience and balance.
I earned my Master’s in Social Work from Kutztown University. My therapeutic approaches draw from cognitive-behavioral therapy as well as eclectic methods that integrate journaling, music, and role-playing to promote client wellness. I believe in tailoring my work to each individual’s needs while providing compassionate, evidence-based care.
I am passionate about helping people find their best path forward. I truly believe that every person deserves the opportunity to live with purpose and peace. It is an honor to walk alongside my clients, celebrate their successes, and support them as they discover the strength within themselves to create meaningful change.

As an African American female, I believe ethnic and racial identity is the foundation of a person.
Teyanna Brunson is a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor with a certificate in forensic psychology. She has had the pleasure of working with a variety of clients. She has worked with children with autism spectrum disorder, ODD, ADHD, and conduct disorder. She has also worked with adults from the ages of 18-93. Teyanna specializes in trauma, PTSD, sexual trauma, substance use, depression, grief, and postpartum.
Teyanna recently graduated from Rosemont College with a degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She received her undergraduate education from Shippensburg University, where she received her BA in Psychology with a minor in Biology. Through her education, she has extended her passion for motivating people to evolve and grow throughout life’s twists and turns. While working at a Veteran's Affairs hospital, she was able to work alongside a team of psychologists and therapists who guided her through the different complexities and traumas veterans face day in and day out. She then began to realize life overall has many complexities which we should focus on. Teyanna's approach to therapy varies from client to client which includes client-centered narrative therapy, solution-focused therapy, and mindfulness.
Teyanna's goal is to help her clients connect with their true selves by building autonomy. She plans to show what trust, support, effectiveness, and compassion look like for her clients, while also doing her part to break the stigma behind counseling in minority communities.
You deserve dedicated time with a mental health professional — it can be life-changing.

My go-to approach for helping survivors of domestic violence who come to therapy is a person-centered approach. I find it important to treat a client with empathy, genuineness, and understanding, at their own pace, as domestic violence and the levels of emotional, physical, and/or sexual abuse inflicted by the perpetrator can be incredibly shaming and scary for a survivor to confront.
I provide several tools related to psychoeducation in domestic violence therapy, including:
I know a client is making meaningful progress in DV therapy when they begin to recognize that the abuse was/is not their fault. When they begin to understand that the abuse occurred/is occurring because the perpetrator is seeking power and control, not because the survivor has done anything wrong to welcome the abuse.
Clients can supplement their time in DV therapy with continued psychoeducation and exercises about the effects of DV. They can also engage in advocacy from DV agencies in their community, which can help with legal proceedings or speaking to the police, as well as just getting extra support. Additionally, group work can be effective for DV survivors, as they can feel supported and understood by others who have gone through similar situations.
To prepare for their first domestic violence counseling session, and individual can try to remember that while it will be difficult and emotional, the therapist is there to be judgment-free and to empower the client to regain a positive sense of self and emotional and/or physical safety. The therapist is there to support you, no matter what.
Domestic violence therapy is a specialized form of counseling that helps victims and their families heal from abusive relationships. It is a crucial component of the broader efforts to address and combat domestic violence, a pattern of abusive behaviors within intimate relationships that can encompass physical, emotional, psychological, sexual, or economic abuse.
In domestic violence therapy, therapists create a safe and supportive environment. Domestic violence therapy is often part of a broader support network that includes legal assistance, shelters, and community resources. Its aim is to break the cycle of abuse, promote safety, and foster healthier relationships.
