About
My approach is warm, honest, and grounding—like having a steady, attuned guide who helps you understand what your mind and body have been carrying, and heal at a pace that honors both your strength and your exhaustion.
I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) with 16 years of experience providing trauma-informed psychotherapy to adolescents and adults. I specialize in supporting individuals navigating anxiety, emotional overwhelm, trauma-related stress, identity concerns, and major life transitions. I often work with clients who feel stuck in patterns shaped by past experiences, chronic stress, or relational challenges and are seeking greater clarity, stability, and confidence.
I earned my master’s degree in social work from Southern Adventist University. I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, cognitive processing therapy, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness-based interventions. I integrate culturally responsive and nervous system-informed strategies tailored to each client’s needs.
Clients often come to therapy wanting to feel calmer, more grounded, and better able to cope without becoming overwhelmed. I provide a collaborative and supportive space to build insight, strengthen emotional regulation, develop practical coping skills, and improve boundaries so you can move forward with balance, clarity, and confidence.

When I begin working with clients in PTSD or trauma therapy, I create an environment that is safe, honest, and empowering for my clients. I find the best benefit in building rapport and developing coping skills with my clients. Before a clinician digs deep with a client, the client must be shown respect and dignity and learn coping skills so they are enabled to dig deep safely.
I teach the following in PTSD/trauma therapy:
I know a client is making meaningful progress in PTSD/trauma therapy when the client is setting healthy boundaries with others, uses coping skills on a regular basis, uses self-regulating skills, and is consistently making healthy choices in their life.
Clients can supplement their time in PTSD/trauma therapy by following up with the work assigned to them by their clinician. Also, clients who are able to find healthy support in their lives have a good success rate.
To prepare for their first PTSD/trauma therapy session, someone can focus on their breathing to stay calm, have some type of fidget that is not too distracting during sessions, and remind themselves they will be in a safe place. There is no rush; we will take this journey at their pace.
At Thriveworks, Trauma/PTSD therapy involves dedicated efforts to address and navigate through past and/or recent traumatic events. Therapists specializing in trauma create a secure environment to process and heal from these experiences, aiming to reduce trauma-related symptoms and enhance overall quality of life.
Our Thriveworks providers use Trauma/PTSD therapy treatments like eye movement desensitization and reprocessing EMDR, CBT, and exposure therapy with the goal of helping clients process the traumatic events they have experienced so that they can to start feeling safe and secure again.
The symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) can vary but often include:
The best way to overcome PTSD triggers is to seek the assistance of a professional therapist, such as those at Thriveworks, who can help you to understand and treat your PTSD triggers.
In most cases, a therapist who specializes in Trauma/PTSD therapy is the best type of mental health professional to address the symptoms of PTSD.
PTSD/trauma therapy at Thriveworks is conducted both in person and online by video. We encourage you to choose the option that works best for you.
If a client is working through a single traumatic event that occurred as an adult, trauma or PTSD therapy may only take a few months, but in general, it can take a year or more to effectively treat trauma symptoms and PTSD. The duration of treatment is highly dependent on the client and the severity of their symptoms.
The success rate of therapy for PTSD depends entirely on the individual’s symptoms, commitment to attending sessions, and personal abilities.
