About
I believe therapy works best when people feel genuinely seen, so I bring warmth, honesty, and real-world compassion into the room while helping clients navigate anxiety, relationships, selfworth, and life transitions.
Hi, I'm Bianca Johnson, LCPC, a licensed therapist with experience supporting individuals, couples, and adolescents through anxiety, depression, self-esteem challenges, relationship concerns, life transitions, and emotional overwhelm. I work with clients who are often seeking deeper self-understanding, healthier coping skills, stronger communication, and more balance in their daily lives. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in helping clients feel safe, supported, and empowered throughout the therapeutic process.
I use a collaborative, compassionate approach that blends CBT, DBT, mindfulness, and practical coping strategies to help clients build self-awareness, improve communication, manage emotions, and navigate life's challenges with greater confidence. Clients can expect a supportive space that encourages growth, accountability, and lasting change.
Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, but you don't have to navigate things alone. I strive to create a space where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered to grow at their own pace. If you're ready to begin your healing journey, I'd be honored to walk alongside you.

As someone who has struggled with mental illness as a woman of color, I have an understanding of the uncertainty, the doubt, the challenges, and the wins.
I am a licensed clinical professional counselor (LPC) with 3 years of experience supporting adults navigating anxiety, depression, and ADHD. I am passionate about meeting clients where they are and providing a supportive space where healing, growth, and self-discovery can occur. I earned my master's degree in mental health counseling from Walden University. My approach focuses on developing practical tools and coping skills to improve well-being. I utilize evidence-based approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, and mindfulness-based practices, tailoring treatment to each client’s needs and experiences.
I strive to create a comfortable and nonjudgmental space where you can be yourself, gain insight, and develop compassion for your journey. Together, we will work toward meaningful change while building the skills needed to navigate life’s challenges. If you’re ready to take the next step toward healing and growth, I look forward to supporting you.

Through personal and professional experience, I understand what it is to face hardship and the importance of identifying and building upon our unique strengths to grow and overcome challenges in life.
I am a licensed certified social worker-clinical (LCSW-C) with over six years of experience in behavioral health services, working with adults struggling with a wide range of mental health challenges. I specialize in working with clients who have complex needs and those within marginalized populations and communities, approaching each person through a humanistic lens. I recognize that each client's needs are unique, and my therapeutic style—grounded in empathy and unconditional positive regard—is not one-size-fits-all.
I am task-centered and solution-focused, drawing on other approaches interchangeably in order to address individuals. I am direct, and will identify and discuss a client's ambivalence or resistance, as needed, in order to help the client continue on their healing process through their individual treatment plan.
Asking for help is the first step, and that step alone shows real strength and the innate drive toward your desire for change and growth. From there, we work together—forming a therapeutic relationship, identifying goals, strengthening coping tools, building connections, and exploring new perspectives—to help you find your personal fulfillment.

My go-to approach for helping people in online therapy is to build a strong therapeutic rapport. I find the best benefit in building rapport because it allows the client to feel safe to express feelings.
I teach the following tools in online therapy: expressing emotions, communication skills, healthy coping skills, and reframing negative thoughts.
I know a client is making meaningful progress in online therapy when the client reports accomplishing the goals they set at the beginning of therapy.
Clients can supplement their time in online therapy through journaling, support groups, bibliotherapy, and practicing healthy coping skills.
To prepare for your first online therapy session, you can create a list of goals you would like to accomplish with therapy.
With Thriveworks, Online therapy is an effective alternative to in-person therapy services in which a client can speak to a Thriveworks therapist remotely via online video conferencing. Online sessions are just as effective as in-person treatment, but they can also provide added benefits like reduced travel time, saving money on transportation or childcare, and increased access to care.
Online therapy works much like traditional in-person therapy but takes place through secure video conferencing. Clients can attend Online therapy from any safe place they choose that has access to the internet, whether that be their home or another easily accessible place. Like in-person treatment, a therapist will work with their client to address their concerns, create goals, and establish an effective treatment plan.
There is no best option for online therapy—instead, it’s best to focus on finding a provider that meets your specific needs and with whom you can form a professional connection with.
Yes, online therapy is just as effetive for many clients as in-person sessions.
Online therapy can last for a few months to years depending on the goals and symptoms of the client. The treatment process will be unique to each client and lend itself to their specific concerns, which means that the time it takes to treat them will always be different. Timing is also up to the client themselves; they are free to stop therapy whenever they please, especially if they feel they have reached their goals and addressed their concerns.
At Thriveworks, we accept most major insurance plans, allowing many clients to pay as little as $0–$50 per session with their co-pay. We also offer self-pay options for those out-of-network or without insurance. Self-pay rates for talk therapy range from $160 to $240 for intake sessions and $135 to $195 for follow-ups, depending on your state. For psychiatry services, self-pay intake sessions are $255–$375, with follow-ups ranging from $175–$300, also varying by state. More information on current self-pay costs is available on our pricing page.
Sometimes, the circumstances we find ourselves in require us to reach out for a little help and support. Mental health professionals have the right skills, training, and experience to guide us in these endeavors and achieve optimal living.
Anything that’s human is mentionable and anything that is mentionable can be more manageable. When we can talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary.”
