My passion in life is to help others with whatever difficulties they are facing, whether that be psychiatric troubles, ordinary life stressors or addictions.
I am a licensed Social Worker (LMSW) in Maryland and I graduated from Salisbury University. I have experience working with people of all ages, with different cultural backgrounds, and experiencing various mental health challenges. Much of my experience comes from working with adults recovering from addictions and I am very knowledgeable about different recovery programs. I have worked with youth (ages 5-17) from traditionally under-served communities and I have worked in hospital-based crisis-intervention services. I am happy to offer a safe space for people of all identities and I proudly identify myself as a 2SLGBTQIA+ ally.
I often utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques (CBT) such as analyzing cognitive distortions that are creating distress for my clients. I also am very enthusiastic about Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) including the modalities of deep-breathing techniques and mindfulness/meditation to help my clients learn how to regulate their emotions.
I strongly believe in approaching life from the perspective of "one day at a time" and striving for acceptance of whatever life throws our way. My deep sense of empathy enables me to "put myself in another person's shoes" and thoroughly identify with my clients' struggles and difficult feelings they are experiencing.

As an individual, I bring both professional expertise and lived experience to the therapeutic process. I understand the profound emotional, psychological, and relational effects that adversity can have on an individual's well-being. I believe that while trauma may shape our stories, it does not have to define our future.
I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based mental health care across the lifespan. I provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and supportive psychotherapy for adolescents, adults, and older adults. I work with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, ADHD, mood disorders, grief and loss, stress, burnout, and life transitions. Seeking support is a courageous first step, and you don't have to navigate life's challenges alone. We'll work together to develop a treatment plan that aligns with your goals and values.
My approach includes psychoeducation and lifestyle interventions. My areas of clinical interest include anxiety disorders, depression, trauma and PTSD, ADHD, mood disorders, grief and loss, stress and burnout, and women's mental health. I have a strong interest in physical and mental health, including sleep, nutrition, hormonal balance, and overall wellness.
I offer a thoughtful, respectful, and collaborative partnership built on trust and communication. I believe in shared decision-making, ensuring treatment plans are personalized, evidence-based, and aligned with your values and goals. I am committed to helping clients build the skills, confidence, and resilience needed to thrive. I offer guidance and support.

Perseverance, resilience, and empowerment are interconnected strengths that fuel personal growth. I use these to assist clients in overcoming challenges, learning from failure, and achieving success.
I am a licensed master social worker (LMSW) with 10 years of experience supporting children, adolescents, adults, and families. I specialize in treating trauma, depression, anxiety, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, bipolar disorder, psychosis, grief and loss, substance use concerns, domestic violence, and issues related to abuse and neglect. I take a client-centered approach and am deeply committed to advocacy, social justice, and supporting individuals through life’s most challenging moments.
I earned my master’s degree in social work from Yeshiva University’s Wurzweiler School of Social Work. My background includes work in community-based settings and military environments, including service as an active-duty United States Navy hospital corpsman. My approach integrates evidence-based practices, including cognitive behavioral therapy.
I strive to create a safe, supportive space where you feel heard, respected, and empowered. Therapy is a collaborative process, and I work alongside you to build insight, develop coping skills, and break patterns that no longer serve you so you can move toward a more balanced and fulfilling life.
You deserve dedicated time with a mental health professional — it can be life-changing.

Child therapy, also known as counseling for kids, helps young individuals better understand and manage the challenges that affect their mental health. Common challenges amongst kids include behavioral issues, trauma, bullying, depression, and anxiety. All ages of children can attend and benefit from child therapy at Thriveworks Frederick.
Child therapy works by using multiple techniques tailored to fit the child’s needs based on their age group, their challenges, and the severity of their challenges. It might involve play therapy for younger kids or cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, art therapy, and others for varying ages. In any case, Thriveworks child therapists in Frederick, MD have the expertise and experience to help kids at their level.
Child therapy is a type of therapy meant for clients within a specific age group, while play therapy is an approach to therapy that helps children with self-expression and stress relief, among others. Play therapy is a technique that is often used in child therapy to help children express what’s running through their minds when they do not have the words to express their thoughts and emotions. It can get children to express what’s wrong, what might be causing unwanted behaviors, or what they might need in a way that is accessible to them so that therapists can then work to treat the issue.
It’s not always obvious when a child should see a therapist for their behavior, though in the midst of challenges like divorce, loss, bullying, and other mental health conditions, it’s often a good idea to seek it out. Common behaviors that can indicate a need for child therapy include separation anxiety, bedwetting (at inappropriate ages), and agitation/excessive irritability — especially if it reaches a point of physical violence.
Cognitive behavioral therapy at Thriveworks in Frederick, MD is one of the best types of therapy for children. However, it can be administered in child therapy sessions in a variety of ways that are more accessible to young minds, such as play therapy.
Child therapy at Thriveworks is conducted both in person and online by video. We encourage you to choose the option that works best for you.
The length of child therapy depends on your child’s needs as well as the goals that you and their therapist might have for them. Generally, child therapy sessions will last for several months.
