About
As a Mexican-American first gen daughter, I understand the challenges and traumas that make an impact on oneself to always be changing.
Hello, I am Lizette. I enjoy nature, crocheting, art and music. I did my bachelor’s at Meredith and did my master’s at UNCW. I worked with immigrants and refugees then switched over to clinical support with the supporting Latino and Hispanics in mental health. I found a passion to work with children and teens. Most teens face a struggle for finding who they are, feeling unsupported or unheard and face some challenges in school and at home. I work with them to find themselves and explore to get to understand who they are and feel confident.
My style is to work with the client and their parents. I do fun and creative activities to get the client engaged like art therapy, play therapy, music therapy. I let the client lead with what they wanna work on, if there is nothing I would have something to do. I also tend to have some resources to help the client grow and give a space for clients. .
It is difficult navigating day to day, and sometimes without realizing we get stuck, frustrated, and lost. You can take a moment to schedule an appointment to heal and explore more about why you feel in that way.

I am also a National Certified Counselor (NCC). I provide counseling services to children, adolescents, adults, families, and groups, tailoring treatment to each individual's unique needs, strengths, and goals. Hello, I am Elizabeth Ishola, and I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor with over 5 years of experience. I am passionate about supporting individuals with various backgrounds and experiences ready to start their personal growth journey, particularly women of color. My clients often deal with challenges such as depression, anxiety, grief, life transitions, trauma, self-esteem, relationship issues, women's health and perinatal concerns.
I operate from a person-centered lens, believing that strong client relationships are key to therapy. I draw from CBT to help clients challenge and replace negative beliefs, and EFT to deepen understanding of emotional experience and how thoughts and beliefs impact behaviors. I work collaboratively to support clients in reaching their personal goals.
We all have had experiences that have shaped who we are, whether good or bad. Often these are things that were out of our control. You may not have had control over these experiences but you do have control of what you do about them. You get to decide the person you want to be and I want to support you in becoming that person.

Grief and loss counseling isn’t one-size-fits-all, but it involves sharing about your loss and then working with your counselor to acknowledge and accept your new reality in its wake. Your provider at Thriveworks in Fayetteville, NC will design your treatment plan around your unique needs and goals for therapy, applying the counseling techniques that best support them.
If you have recently experienced an event like the death of a loved one, a breakup or divorce, the loss of a job, or another major life change, then you may want to seek grief and loss counseling. Grief can be caused by many experiences and events, so if you feel that you are having trouble moving on from a certain event or find that it is still impacting your life and functioning, grief and loss counseling can help you process it more effectively so that you can move on and once again find fulfillment and satisfaction in your life.
There are many counseling theories for treating grief, one of the most frequently used being the dual process model of grief which helps people acknowledge who or what they’ve lost through rumination while also adjusting to the new roles and identities that this loss has now placed on them. There are also many commonly used therapy approaches used in grief and loss counseling, including Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and traumatic grief therapy.
Grief & loss counseling at Thriveworks is conducted both in person and online by video. We encourage you to choose the option that works best for you.
For many, grief and loss counseling lasts for about 6 months. For others, it may last shorter or longer, depending on the severity of their loss and their grief.
