Psychologists are mental health professionals that provide psychotherapy services and diagnoses for their clients. They have more research-focused training than most therapists, as they are more medically educated and receive a more general education about therapeutic approaches and theory.
Thriveworks psychologists in Cincinnati, OH provide standard psychotherapy services, tailoring treatment to each client and their unique concerns. However, they can also provide diagnoses to clients when appropriate, something that therapists and counselors cannot do. Finally, in some states in the U.S., they are allowed to prescribe medication.
Psychological treatment at Thriveworks Cincinnati is very individualized and specific to each client, which means that the duration of treatment is often varied depending on a client’s condition or disorder, the state of their symptoms, and their specific goals.
At Thriveworks Counseling in Cincinnati, OH, we have a team of compassionate psychologists who are standing by, ready to help you. Is there a difficulty or hardship that comes to mind? Give our office a call and we can set you up with an appointment as soon as tomorrow. You don’t have to face challenges on your own. Help is available.
As we just briefly touched on, psychologists are leaders in their field who dedicate themselves to helping their clients achieve greater overall happiness and success. After going through extensive education and training programs, they are equipped with the knowledge and tools to accurately diagnose, treat, and manage the myriad of mental health challenges that people may face.
A lot of people wonder if a psychologist will prescribe them a psychiatric medication. The short answer is no. While psychologists work with you to achieve greater overall mental health and wellbeing, they don’t prescribe psychiatric medications. However, if you are considered to be a good fit for medication management, they will work with your primary care doctor or psychiatrist to ensure your needs and goals are being met.
One of the benefits of working with a psychologist here at Thriveworks Counseling in Cincinnati is that they are fully capable of helping clients work through a wide range of different mental health challenges they may have. We commonly see clients because of challenges like:
