Julie Burnett is a counselor with 11 years of experience. Her focus is working with clients ages 11 and older — individuals, couples, and/or families. Julie believes that all people deserve to be treated with respect and, therefore, respect is a foundational part of her counseling sessions. Julie specializes in general mental health, relationships, grief and loss, domestic abuse, and parenting. She believes that clients are the experts on their own lives, so they are the ones to choose the topics for each session while Julie brings various techniques that can help. Together they create healthy life goals and decide what techniques they want to try. Julie believes that she is here simply to be a helping hand, a listening ear, and a friendly guide as the client navigates through difficult times. In order to help clients find their way to healing on the other side of pain, Julie provides new insights, teaches new skills, introduces new knowledge, helps to broaden the client’s focus, and encourages clients to practice new skills. While Julie will never preach to the client or try to change their beliefs about faith, as a Christian, she views the world through a biblical lens.
Since she was young, Julie has wanted to help people work through their problems so they can have happier, healthier lives. She often found herself being the one her friends went to for help with their problems. She saw counseling as a way to help others. During her studies she was excited to learn that the best helping skill is listening non-judgmentally, the one skill she had been practicing since she was young. She also learned many other counseling techniques and skills that she integrates into sessions with clients. Since earning her counseling degree in 2011, she has served in a variety of settings. She has worked with victims of domestic violence and sexual assault survivors, with active and recently retired military personnel, and with high school students. She has also kept a private practice where she has been able to work with all ages and a variety of issues. As she has worked with clients throughout the years, she has found that, regardless of age, healthy relationships and boundary setting are typically common goals for clients as we all strive to live a healthy, productive life. Julie allows the client to lead the session while she helps keep it focused on the path toward healing and healthy life goals. Some of the therapies Julie uses include person-centered, Adlerian, cognitive behavioral, and mindfulness.
Julie understands that reaching out for counseling can be a scary time for clients. But she would like you to know that you have nothing to fear from her. Counseling with Julie is a safe space where all emotions are welcome, she will not judge you for your thoughts, actions, or emotions! Julie has been told that she is a very down-to-earth counselor, and she is excited to meet you and help you begin your journey on the path to a healthier and more joyful life.

My name is Alicia Solomon and I am a counseling and behavioral therapist that specializes in marriage and family therapy. My goal is to empower each individual that I work with to become the best version of themselves. I look forward to working with you as you start your journey to success.
I provide individual therapy sessions and have a passion for working with couples and families. I also provide behavioral therapy to modify problematic behavior, particularly in children, within the family dynamic, and I help adults overcome addictive behaviors. I believe that the path to success first starts in one's mind. "As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he…" —Proverbs 23:7. I like to help my clients "think" on a higher frequency, which leads to a higher quality of life. In my work, I have clients review worksheets and videos, I challenge their thinking, and I help them make the best decisions for themselves.
Clients may be assigned homework to review at their next session. I help clients identify their problem areas and give them tools to problem-solve through their issues. At times, clients may need to talk through their issues, and I encourage them to keep a pen and paper handy to take notes they can reference later.
If you are ready to live your life and move forward in a healthier way with clarity, confidence, and empowerment, please contact the scheduling team to get started today. I look forward to working with you!

The Gottman Method of couples therapy is a research-supported approach designed to enhance relationships by bolstering the bond between partners, resolving conflicts, and fostering shared meaning in their relationship through comprehensive assessments and tailored interventions that improve communication, trust, and the overall health of the partnership.
If you’re facing persistent relationship problems, communication breakdowns, or unresolved conflicts that are impacting your emotional well-being and happiness, Couples/marriage therapy may be beneficial for you.
While marriage and couple’s counseling is typically recommended for couples who are experiencing persistent or severe relationship issues, any relationship can benefit from attending these sessions.
Marriage and couples counseling at Thriveworks is conducted both in person and online by video. We encourage you to choose the option that works best for you and your partner.
On average, couples attend marriage and couples counseling for 12 weeks. However, couples & marriage counseling may last longer or shorter, dependent on the couples’ needs, the challenges they’d like to work through, and the pace of their progress.
At Thriveworks, we accept most major insurance plans, allowing many clients to pay as little as $0–$50 per session with their co-pay. We also offer self-pay options for those out-of-network or without insurance. Self-pay rates for talk therapy range from $160 to $240 for intake sessions and $135 to $195 for follow-ups, depending on your state. For psychiatry services, self-pay intake sessions are $255–$375, with follow-ups ranging from $175–$300, also varying by state. More information on current self-pay costs is available on our pricing page.
Often, couples are so close to a problem that they find it hard to find an obvious solution. That’s where relationship counseling can help. Bringing in an unbiased, third-party viewpoint can help partners better understand what’s going on in their relationship. A therapist or counselor can give you the tools you need to deal with your issues and help you get on the same page again.
A couples therapist can help you resolve conflict in your relationship, build intimacy, and improve the way you communicate with each other. At Thriveworks in Arlington, TX, our marriage and family therapists can support you both as you work through your problems so you come out on the other side happier and healthier. If your relationship doesn’t feel the way it once did, help is available. Consider reaching out to a Thriveworks mental health professional in Arlington, TX.
Your therapist will start by talking to you as individuals or as a couple to determine the underlying causes of your relationship issues. From there, you will work with your therapist to determine a goal and a timeline.
Every couple’s goals will be different and may change over time. In some cases, the goal may be to argue less. In other instances, it may be to approach divorce in a civil, healthy manner. The form of treatment will largely depend on your desired outcome from couples therapy.
Throughout your sessions, your therapist will help you work on the skills you need to improve your relationship. You may need to focus on communication, trust, stress management, selflessness, patience, or forgiveness, among others. To practice these skills, you may be given assignments to try outside of your appointments. For example, someone struggling to get in touch with their emotions may be asked to keep a journal as a way of building that awareness. A couple desiring more intimacy may be tasked with setting aside time for dates or alone time away from their kids.
