About
I strive to create a warm, collaborative space where you feel understood and supported, and where we can work together to turn insight into practical, meaningful change in your daily life.
I am a licensed psychologist (Ph.D.) with 9 years of experience providing therapy to adults and couples. I specialize in treating mood and anxiety disorders, including depression, anxiety, relationship concerns, life transitions, and stress. Many of the clients I work with are seeking a deeper understanding of their thoughts and behavior patterns so they can create meaningful, lasting change. I help them clarify their values and take practical, actionable steps toward becoming who they want to be.
I earned my doctorate in clinical psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology and have specialized experience in adult individual and couples therapy. I primarily utilize acceptance and commitment therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy, while integrating humanistic, values-based approaches.
You deserve a fulfilling life, and I am here to help you move toward it. If you are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or held back by self-doubt, we can work together to build insight, challenge unhelpful beliefs, and create forward momentum. When you are ready, I invite you to schedule a session and begin the process of meaningful change.

I find myself naturally working with my counselees to help them live more virtuous and flourishing lives. This can be done by resolving current and past issues and, most importantly, by improving the future.
I am Dr. Jim Fox, and I have over 30 years of counseling experience. I am a former pastor and a graduate of Denver Seminary, and I recently finished a second doctorate in Christ-centered counseling at Trinity Theological Seminary. I work primarily from a Christian worldview, although I respect non-Christians. I am a practitioner of Solution-Focused Psychology, a Master Addiction Counselor, and have experience with most problems, including couples problems, depression, anxiety, adjustment disorders, ADHD, and PTSD. I am an EMDR practitioner and am versed in helping those with adultery and porn addiction problems.
My approach is to work toward a better tomorrow, solve problems, and leave the past behind as quickly as possible. I am an ardent user of Positive Psychology and Summa Bonum Psychology. This type of treatment includes ways to make your life happier and help you (and your significant other, for couples) flourish by improving character strengths and values.
I work with both individuals and couples, Christian or non-Christian. You will find that I will push to make your life better. I love to listen, but I believe action helps a person grow in a positive way.

As a therapist and a mom raising three adolescent boys, I know firsthand that healing happens in the everyday moments of life, and I've devoted my career to helping individuals and families find their way through challenges toward connection, resilience, and growth.
Hi, I’m Gwen Koenig, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with 30 years of experience in child welfare and behavioral health. I’ve developed a deep understanding of how trauma and adversity shape the way we think, feel, and connect with others. I welcome adolescents, adults, and families into my practice, many of whom are struggling with depression, anxiety, major life changes, or past trauma. My goal is to help you feel understood, build practical tools for managing what feels overwhelming, and rediscover a sense of hope and connection. I welcome clients of all backgrounds, including those who identify as LGBTQ+.
My approach is collaborative, warm, and grounded in the belief that you already have strengths to build on. I draw on a strengths-based lens, a person-in-environment perspective, motivational interviewing, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to help you build coping skills at your own pace. You can expect a safe, nonjudgmental space with honest support.
Reaching out for help takes courage. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or ready for something to change, you don’t have to figure it out alone. I believe in your capacity to heal and grow, and I’d be honored to walk alongside you. When you’re ready, I invite you to schedule an appointment so we can begin this journey together.
You deserve dedicated time with a mental health professional — it can be life-changing.

Social anxiety counseling helps people better understand and manage the anxiety they experience in or because of social interactions. If you are struggling with regular anxious thoughts and feelings as a result of social interactions or settings and they’re affecting your day-to-day life, consider seeking social anxiety counseling with one of our trained Thriveworks Westminster therapists. The social anxiety therapists at Thriveworks can develop a treatment plan that will help you better manage your day-to-day social anxiety or your social anxiety disorder.
Social anxiety counseling involves talking to a therapist about your social anxiety symptoms, potential causes, and more. Your therapist will then work with you to determine where your social anxiety might stem from and teach you effective coping mechanisms.
Thriveworks social anxiety counseling in Westminster, CO is conducted both in person and through online therapy. We encourage you to choose the option that works best for you.
Social anxiety counseling can last for a few weeks, months, or longer, depending on the severity of one’s social anxiety as well as their needs and preferences.
Even though social anxiety is basically a household term, millions in the United States alone have been diagnosed with social anxiety or social phobia. With this disorder, there are some very real and very hard situations to get through when interacting with someone with social phobia. Especially if they are trying to get through a situation that is actively triggering it. It’s hard to break out of your shell when you are constantly reinforcing it with layers upon layers of steel.
Make an appointment with Thriveworks, let’s get the crowbars and jackhammers to break down the barriers you put up daily. Let’s learn to be open and learn how openness makes us happier and easier to approach. But most importantly you will learn how to accept your anxiety, squeeze it into oblivion, and say goodbye to it.
