She has the most passion for the issues of anxiety, depression, bipolar, OCD, BPD, LGBTQIA+ (she is an ally), life transitions, career issues, relationships, grief, women's issues, infertility, adoption, non-complex trauma, those with substance use issues who have been in recovery and want to better their lives, and spirituality issues including recovering from spiritual abuse and spiritual trauma.
Janet earned a Master of Arts in Counseling at Kairos University and a master’s in Divinity at Emory University. She utilizes many treatment approaches including CBT, DBT, STEPPS, Gottman, motivational interviewing, choice therapy, ACT, Rogerian, REBT, narrative therapy, the use of pets to cope, 12 steps, and is in the process of becoming certified in EMDR.
Janet looks forward to meeting you where you are in your life and in your mental health issues. She will be able to listen and respond in a non-threatening, compassionate, and knowledgeable way.
