I earned my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University. My approach to therapy is holistic, client-centered, and collaborative. I integrate evidence-based modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing, along with trauma-informed care tailored to each client’s unique needs and personal strengths.
I believe reaching out for support takes courage, and I honor the trust clients place in me as they begin their healing journey. I strive to create a warm and nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their emotions, embrace their strengths, and work toward meaningful change, developing greater self-awareness, resilience, and peace along the way.

Depression and anxiety disorders are, first and foremost, mood disorders—that is, disorders related to human feelings and emotions. In many other fields of medicine, blood tests and physical examinations are carried out to identify the disease. This cannot be done when dealing with depression and anxiety disorders. Healthcare practitioners will primarily talk to the patient in order to formulate a diagnosis. It is very common that these individuals show no outward physical signs, despite intense and often unbearable mental obstacles they face daily. Some of the key symptoms a health professional will watch out for include:
Anxiety:
Depression:
There are a number of diverse treatment options for depression and anxiety; lifestyle interventions include a better diet and more exercise, medical interventions like anti-depressants and, finally, counseling services such as those offered by Thriveworks Silver Spring, MD.
Typically, medical and lifestyle interventions help patients to manage and reduce their symptoms, yet are not designed to tackle the underlying cause of their emotional problems. Talk-based counseling methods, on the other hand, focus on recognizing the root cause of the disorder. They aim to reduce the symptoms by directly addressing the issues surrounding the origins of the patient’s mental health difficulties.
At Thriveworks Silver Spring we strive to create a personalized treatment plan for every patient. In this manner we try to ensure that our clients’ individual needs are met in the best way possible. At Thriveworks we accept many different insurance plans as well as offering flexible hours with weekend and evening availability. Thriveworks has a “no waiting list” policy. We want our clients to get the help they need as soon as possible, and new clients can have an appointment set up within the same week.
