I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) with 17 years of experience supporting clients through trauma, anxiety, grief, and major life transitions. I began my career working with children and adolescents and later expanded my practice to include adults. I specialize in trauma, including religious and queer community trauma, and I help individuals build deeper self-connection and emotional awareness.
I earned my master’s degree in professional counseling from Liberty University. My therapeutic style is integrative, trauma-informed, and evidence-based. I draw from trauma-focused, narrative, cognitive behavioral therapy, somatic approaches, integrative therapy, and play therapy to meet each client’s unique needs.
I believe every person has the capacity for healing and growth. My goal is to provide a compassionate, relational, and safe space where you can explore your experiences, uncover your strengths, and move toward clarity and empowerment. If you are ready to begin your healing journey, I would be honored to support you.

My go-to approach for treating depression is using a person-centered dialogue. I find the best benefit in including the individual because even depression can impact people differently and deserves a safe space for open discussion about their personal experiences.
I teach the following tools in depression counseling: vulnerable communication, acceptance of self, deep breathing exercises, mindfulness, one-day-at-a-time motivations, grounding techniques, and other coping skills that fit the client's needs.
I know a client is making meaningful progress in depression counseling when they can begin seeing the progress along with me and can express seeing the changes in their lives.
Clients can supplement their time in depression counseling with proper use of social support, activities that fit their interests, and/or quality time with themselves to connect.
To prepare for your first depression counseling session, you can start brainstorming what you want your future to look like. This helps create a goal that you want to get out of the therapy itself and models what progress can look like for you.
