About
Hello! I am an LCSW with over seventeen years of counseling experience and I have a wide variety of interests and hobbies.
I have a BFA in painting and an MSW, and over seventeen years of counseling experience. Prior to earning my MSW, I worked on a crisis line. My parents came from different cultural backgrounds, and I am a parent who has been both married and divorced. While I maintain a circle of family and close friends, I have also experienced multiple losses, and both of my parents are gone. My life experiences have helped me become a better counselor. I work particularly well with clients who struggle with grief, anxiety, and depression.
As a counselor, I take a humanistic and client-centered approach. To me, counseling is the constant asking of "What next?" — meaning that through both prosperous and difficult times, it is important to make sound, responsible decisions. I have collaborated with adults, children, and adolescents, and provided individual, group, and couples counseling.
The variety and breadth of my experiences have contributed to my effectiveness as a counselor. Counseling is a journey that can be illuminating, and fun, but also arduous and demanding. I look forward to accompanying you on that journey.

As a man of color who has walked through trauma and grief, I offer you a grounded, steady presence where you feel safe, understood, and supported to clear emotional and psychological blocks, release limiting patterns, strengthen resilience, and move with confidence toward your fullest potential.
I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) with 15 years of experience providing evidence-based psychotherapy. I work with adults and couples navigating trauma, grief, anxiety, infidelity recovery, and relationship challenges. Many of my clients feel stuck in painful patterns, overwhelmed by past experiences, or disconnected from their confidence and direction. I focus on helping clients build emotional awareness, strengthen coping skills, and create healthier patterns in their lives and relationships. My approach is active, structured, and relational.
I earned my master's degree in professional counseling from Grand Canyon University. I use EMDR and evidence-based approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy to help clients process experiences, regulate emotions, and move toward change. For couples, I utilize Gottman Method techniques to strengthen communication and rebuild trust.
My goal is to provide a calm, supportive space where you feel heard, respected, and empowered to grow. Together, we will identify emotional roadblocks, develop practical tools, and build skills that support lasting progress. If you are ready to move beyond surviving and begin creating the life and relationships you want, I look forward to working with you.

With Thriveworks, Online therapy is an effective alternative to in-person therapy services in which a client can speak to a Thriveworks therapist remotely via online video conferencing. Online sessions are just as effective as in-person treatment, but they can also provide added benefits like reduced travel time, saving money on transportation or childcare, and increased access to care.
Online therapy works much like traditional in-person therapy but takes place through secure video conferencing. Clients can attend Online therapy from any safe place they choose that has access to the internet, whether that be their home or another easily accessible place. Like in-person treatment, a therapist will work with their client to address their concerns, create goals, and establish an effective treatment plan.
There is no best option for online therapy—instead, it’s best to focus on finding a provider that meets your specific needs and with whom you can form a professional connection with.
Yes, online therapy is just as effetive for many clients as in-person sessions.
Online therapy can last for a few months to years depending on the goals and symptoms of the client. The treatment process will be unique to each client and lend itself to their specific concerns, which means that the time it takes to treat them will always be different. Timing is also up to the client themselves; they are free to stop therapy whenever they please, especially if they feel they have reached their goals and addressed their concerns.
At Thriveworks, we accept most major insurance plans, allowing many clients to pay as little as $0–$50 per session with their co-pay. We also offer self-pay options for those out-of-network or without insurance. Self-pay rates for talk therapy range from $160 to $240 for intake sessions and $135 to $195 for follow-ups, depending on your state. For psychiatry services, self-pay intake sessions are $255–$375, with follow-ups ranging from $175–$300, also varying by state. More information on current self-pay costs is available on our pricing page.
Thanks to technological advancements, online counseling is a viable option today for those wishing to get help for mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders. We spend more and more of our time online, from services like shopping and banking to even catching up with friends. Counseling services have followed this trend and allow you to speak to a licensed mental health professional without having to step foot outside your door.
At Thriveworks Counseling in Peoria, AZ, we don’t believe anything should stand in the way of getting the mental health services you need to achieve a healthier balance in your life. If you’re interested in online therapy, it’s easier than ever to get started.
You might be wondering how online therapy services compare to in-person, traditional therapy. Since therapy is largely based on communication between a client and a therapist, many clients find both types of therapy to be equally effective.
You can receive the following services online:
Virtual therapy isn’t just offered for individuals, either. If you’re looking for a marriage and family therapist and are trying to coordinate therapy with others, online therapy can be a much more convenient option.
If you’re facing a mental illness like anxiety or depression, it can be very difficult to take the first step towards getting help, even if you know it’s necessary. The thought of opening up about personal issues and experiences can be daunting enough, not to mention the idea of fighting traffic on a regular basis to get to your appointments. Some clients may simply be unable to visit in person due to transportation limitations, physical illness, or disability.
Virtual therapy takes much of the stress out of seeking help for mental health issues. Starting your session is as easy as opening a live video chat. Some people simply have an easier time opening up to a therapist when they are in a comfortable place like their home. Some clients find that therapy appointments by video chat allow them to create deeper relationships with their therapists than they would by phone calls alone. Psychiatrists and counselors also note that video chats allow them to see nonverbal communication cues to help them get a more complete picture.
At Thriveworks Counseling, we know your mental health is important. That’s why we offer same-week appointments for new clients, including hours in the evenings and on weekends to fit your busy schedule. Plus, when you work with Thriveworks, you can rest assured that your appointment really will start on time and you can take advantage of our flexible cancellation policy.
Mental health issues can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to handle this by yourself. Whether you prefer in-person therapy sessions or online appointments, our licensed professionals are ready to help at Thriveworks Counseling in Peoria, AZ.
