My go-to approach for helping people in teen counseling is eclectic. I find the best benefit in an eclectic approach because it draws from various therapeutic modalities, allowing me to tailor my approach to each teen's unique needs and circumstances.

To prepare for their first teen counseling session, a teen can reflect on what they hope to gain from therapy, think about what specific goals or challenges they want to address, and approach the session with an open mind and a willingness to be honest and authentic.
Teen counseling helps young individuals better understand and manage the challenges that affect their mental health. Common challenges amongst teens include anxiety, depression, ADHD, and problematic relationships with food.
