About
I am grateful you are here and my hope is that I can help you with the challenges you are having right now.
I’m Jacob Glose, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Missouri and Arkansas with over 10 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. I provide individual and couples therapy and specializes in treating anxiety, depression, trauma, and relational challenges. I am trained in EMDR and offer trauma-informed care for clients looking to process difficult past experiences and move forward with more clarity and stability. My approach to therapy is collaborative and honest. I believe a strong therapeutic relationship is essential.
I build that through consistency, trust, & clear communication. Early sessions focus on understanding what brings you to therapy, identifying your goals, and creating a plan that fits your needs. From there, the work involves exploring patterns, thoughts, and emotions that may be contributing to distress or keeping you stuck.
Beginning therapy can feel uncertain, but I work to create a supportive and steady space. My approach helps clients make sense of their experiences and build the insight and tools needed to face life’s challenges with more compassion, confidence, and direction.

When you and your partner begin premarital counseling, your counselor will want to get to know you both as well as your relationship. In order to accomplish this, they will ask questions around the following:
If there is a particular area that they feel needs to be explored further (for example, you note that you and your partner have very different spending habits and views on money), they’ll guide the conversation in the given direction.
Premarital counseling at Thriveworks is conducted both in person and through Online therapy. We encourage you to choose the option that works best for you and your partner.

Whether you’re preparing for marriage, or you are in a committed relationship and want to get on the right track, premarital counseling could be just what you need. Premarital counseling brings two people together to learn and develop communication skills, identify conflict areas, and discover how to properly overcome these difficulties. With an overwhelming amount of marriages ending in divorce, it is vital for couples to learn how to work together through whatever life throws at you.
Premarital counseling is more frequently used by couples in the time leading up to their wedding. However, premarital counseling can be advantageous to couples considering marriage and need the reassurance that they are ready for the next step. When two people learn to communicate effectively, a lot can stem from it. Some couples finish counseling and feel closer than ever. However, some couples walk away from therapy deciding that they are better off to lead separate lives—and that’s okay, too.
Some areas that are covered in premarital counseling can include:
