About
I bring a compassionate, trauma-informed approach that honors each person’s lived experience while supporting meaningful and sustainable healing.
I am a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) with 14 years of experience providing care across inpatient, outpatient, and community mental health settings. I work primarily with adults experiencing depression, anxiety, mood disorders, trauma, and life transitions who are seeking clarity, stability, and emotional relief. My goal is to help clients feel heard, supported, and empowered throughout their mental health journey.
I earned my Master of Science in nursing from Herzing University. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and trauma-informed, combining evidence-based medication management with thoughtful education and supportive guidance. I emphasize insight-building, emotional regulation, and individualized treatment planning.
You do not have to navigate this process alone. Whether you are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or ready for change, I strive to meet you where you are and provide care rooted in respect, empathy, and clinical expertise. I welcome the opportunity to support you as you take the next step toward healing and improved well-being.

Eating disorder therapy is a specialized approach aimed at assisting those who are grappling with a range of eating disorders. These disorders are significant mental health conditions characterized by irregular or unhealthy eating patterns and an intense focus on body weight and shape. Common conditions addressed in Eating disorders include anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge-eating disorder, and avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID).
At Thriveworks, Eating disorders begins with a thorough assessment and personalized treatment plan. Central to eating disorder therapy is psychotherapy, often employing cognitive behavioral therapy and other specialized techniques to target negative thought patterns.
The signs of an eating disorder can include:
CBT’s remission rate, according to some research, is generally between 50-30% for those seeking assistance for eating disorder symptoms.
The recovery rate for those seeking assistance with eating disorders depends entirely on the individual’s involvement in sessions, the severity of their symptoms, and their willingness to change their eating habits and relationship with food.
Eating disorder therapy at Thriveworks is conducted both in person and online by video. We encourage you to choose the option that works best for you.
The length of Eating disorders will vary from one person to the next, dependent on their specific needs. Your therapist can help to determine what might be most beneficial for you.
The reality is that anorexia and bulimia can cause severe harm to a person’s health. Anorexia even has the highest death rates of any psychiatric disorder. Some describe anorexia and bulimia as slow suicide. Getting people the treatment they need is of the utmost importance. And effective treatments are available. Psychological, nutritional, and medical interventions can be tailored to an individual’s unique needs and symptoms.
Reaching out for help takes courage, but it is often the first step in re-establishing healthy eating patterns and body image. The therapists and psychologists at Thriveworks Kennesaw often help clients who are fighting disordered eating. We know the medical risks that people with bulimia and anorexia face, and we want to provide integrated care. Reach out today for help.
Well-intentioned people may admire how slim or skinny an anorexic or bulimic appears, but these compliments may encourage the eating disorder. Certain cultural beliefs unfortunately shame people who are overweight, and in the midst of so much confusion about what is healthy and unhealthy, it is important not to over-emphasize slimness. Skinny and healthy are very different concepts and goals, and people who struggle with anorexia and bulimia also face an increased risk of severe health problems.
Anorexia often lowers people’s heart rate, blood pressure and increases their risk of an abnormal heartbeat and heart failure. Anorexia can also disrupt a woman’s menstrual cycle and lead to infertility. Other health risks include endocrine disruptions, anemia, premature osteoporosis, kidney damage, premature osteoporosis, and even death. Bulimia may also cause heart failure and death, but many of its health risks threaten the digestive system. Bulimia is associated with higher risks of gastric rupture, ulcer, tooth decay, electrolyte imbalance, kidney disease, and constipation.
The DSM-5 gives the following diagnostics for anorexia nervosa:
