I am currently a doctoral student in Counselor Education and Supervision at St. Mary’s University, with the goal of becoming a counseling professor. I have developed a strong affinity for working with young adults navigating identity development and life transitions, first-generation Asian Americans, and individuals experiencing feeding and eating disorders.

Hi, my name is Jared, and I'm an LPC Associate with an M.S. in Counseling. I work with adults ages 18–63 navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, addiction recovery, relationship wounds, identity development, and emotional pain. I also support LGBTQIA+ clients exploring identity, shame, religious trauma, self-acceptance, and rejection. I was a born talker! Long before I began college, I was known by those around me as the secret keeper. I received both a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Development and Family Studies and a Master of Education in Counseling with a focus on Community, from the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas. After college, I have worked with those affected by trauma, including children, adolescents, adults and the elderly. I have worked with child victims in foster care, those affected by domestic violence, those currently experiencing homelessness and those who have been diagnosed with one or more mental health disorders. 

What I have learned is that we are who our experiences shape us to be. You take the good, you take the bad, you take them both and there you have the facts of life. Regardless of what has happened, we can move forward—we can take the path less traveled and achieve positive results. We can be exactly who we want to be—if we're willing to put in the work.
