I know firsthand the pain of life and mental illness, and my passion is to provide hope to those who feel hurt, lonely, and misunderstood by using a blend of faith-based and cognitive behavioral therapy.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate with over 4 years of experience supporting individuals and families through their healing journeys. I help clients manage depression, anxiety, and mood disorders while building coping skills and resilience. My goal is to help clients uncover strength and hope, using compassion and collaboration as the foundation for growth. I empower clients to recognize their resilience and practice positive change daily.
I earned my Master’s in Social Work from the University of South Carolina. My approach is strength-based, integrating cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy techniques to help clients build new perspectives, reframe distress, and develop healthier coping tools.
I look forward to welcoming you into a safe, judgment-free space where your story matters. No one is beyond healing, and I believe in meeting each client with empathy and understanding. Together, we’ll navigate challenges, uncover strengths, and take meaningful steps toward emotional wellness and peace.

My go-to approach for helping people in dialectical behavioral therapy is mindfulness and distress tolerance skill development. I find these beneficial for navigating everyday life and they create the groundwork for emotional regulation and interpersonal effectiveness skills.
Skill development is an important part of dialectical behavior therapy. Skills centered around mindfulness (being present in the moment), emotional regulation (navigating emotional changes), distress tolerance (handling unpleasant feelings or situations), and interpersonal effectiveness (interactions with others) are helpful for everyday life and are the pillars of dialectical behavioral therapy.
I know a client is making meaningful progress in dialectical behavioral therapy when they are able to reflect on events and acknowledge the emotions they had during the situation without re-triggering those emotions.
Clients can supplement their time in dialectical behavioral therapy by practicing the skills they learn in sessions. This can include practicing different ways to process events and feelings, breathing exercises, and creating and utilizing self-care plans.
Look into what dialectical behavioral therapy is and reflect on their relationship with their emotions.
At Thriveworks, Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) primarily concentrates on assisting individuals in emotion regulation, enhancing interpersonal relationships, and acquiring effective coping strategies for managing stress and emotional difficulties.
Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) targets your personal challenges. You may work with your DBT therapist to maintain diary cards to monitor progress, emphasizing validation and support in the therapeutic relationship. DBT follows a stage-based approach, prioritizing crisis reduction initially and life satisfaction.
DBT was initially developed to address the needs of individuals with borderline personality disorder (BPD). However, its versatile approach has enabled its application to a wide range of mental health conditions, including but not limited to, anxiety, depression, stress, and anger issues.
The 4 pillars of DBT are mindfulness, emotion regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, and distress tolerance.
Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) have distinct purposes and aren’t inherently superior or inferior to one another. DBT is most effective for managing emotional regulation, personality disorders, and interpersonal challenges, while EMDR is specifically tailored for individuals with trauma-related conditions like post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) with therapists at Thriveworks in Greenville, SC is conducted both in person and online by video. We encourage you to choose the option that works best for you.
The duration of a standard DBT program is typically around 24 weeks, which is roughly six months. The actual number of sessions will vary depending on the issues you wish to address.
