As a woman who has dealt with my fair share of life’s ups and downs, I am passionate about helping others overcome their own ups and downs
I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) with 6 years of experience providing mental health care across a variety of settings. I work with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, grief and loss, life transitions, substance use concerns, mood disorders, and gender dysphoria. I am passionate about supporting individuals who have faced barriers to accessing mental health services and strive to create an inclusive, affirming space for healing and growth.
I earned my master’s in clinical mental health counseling from Columbus State University. My approach is client-centered and collaborative, focusing on identifying individual needs while developing practical strategies for change. I incorporate coping skills, mindfulness-based techniques, and strengths-based interventions to support lasting progress.

Cathy Wardlaw is a Licensed Professional Counselor with 10 years of experience. She specializes in working with adolescents and adults who are dealing with trauma, ADHD, adjustment issues, life transitions, anxiety, depression, grief, and relationship issues. Before becoming a counselor, Cathy worked for 15 years in the public school system as a paraprofessional, serving elementary and high school students.
Cathy received her Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Liberty University. She uses a variety of clinical approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, acceptance commitment therapy, dialectal behavioral therapy, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, and mindfulness techniques.

Helping others in grief and loss counseling can include talking about the loss, learning about grief, and developing a new self identity post the loss. I enjoy seeing benefits of how the person can identify the unhealthy versus the healthy ways to behave post the loss.
Tools used in grief and loss counseling can include learning how to understand how loss is different from depression, how to see unhealthy behaviors on their day to day lives, and helping others develop new identities.
Ways to measure meaning progress is reporting ways to behave differently, talking about loss, building coping strategies and how to handle anniversaries.
