I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) with 6 years of experience providing mental health care across a variety of settings. I work with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, grief and loss, life transitions, substance use concerns, mood disorders, and gender dysphoria. I am passionate about supporting individuals who have faced barriers to accessing mental health services and strive to create an inclusive, affirming space for healing and growth.
I earned my master’s in clinical mental health counseling from Columbus State University. The approach for supporting others using CBT is learning thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and how they impact the individual using all three areas. The benefit of CBT is hearing the client share their increased awareness and self-implementation.
The primary tool taught within the CBT theory includes triangle of behaviors stemming from emotions and feelings, rational thinking, irrational thinking, and skills.
Ways in which a client is making progress within CBT includes the client sharing their self-awareness, ability to understand their emotions prior to behaviors, and choice making.
A client can supplement their time in between sessions using CBT skillsets is to apply their homework of recognizing their emotions, feelings, and behaviors, and how the three impact one another.
The client can anticipate their session with remaining in a posture of learner, safety, recognizing the impairment and ways to recognize the healthy benefit of the use of CBT skills instead.

For psychiatry services, self-pay intake sessions are $255–$375, with follow-ups ranging from $175–$300, also varying by state. The success rate of CBT varies depending on the intentions of the client and their condition(s).
The selection between cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) is based on an individual’s unique needs and challenges. CBT is commonly chosen for addressing conditions such as anxiety and depression, whereas DBT is especially beneficial for individuals dealing with borderline personality disorder, emotional regulation issues, and difficulties in interpersonal relationships.
