About
Working with people to create a lifestyle of mental, emotional, and physical health and wellness.
Gayle Bookout is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) and Life Coach who has 10 years of experience in the mental health field. Gayle desires to help people with life and career transitions ranging from affair recovery, divorce and marriage problems, premarital counseling, career changes, weight loss/management, loss of a spouse/loved one, as well as working with grief, depression, stress management, food addiction, and other mental health issues.
Gayle completed her master's degree in Counseling at Liberty University. Her objective is to help people work through the issues and transitions of their lives and empower them to lead a life free from the bonds of childhood wounds, everyday stress and depression, and negative self-talk, so that they will be able to lead productive and happier lives, find balance, and re-discover their passion. She helps people look for/at the underlying causes of their issues instead of treating just the symptoms, using cognitive behavioral and rational emotive therapies to get to the root of the matter.

Victoria "Vicky" Baxter is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) who has 7 years of experience providing services to all ages--children, adolescent, and adults--along with couples and family treatment. Vicky’s clinical background includes the Charlie Norwood VA where she worked with veterans of all ages with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, and anxiety. She then worked for a Community Service Board in Georgia, serving low SES populations and treating severe and persistent mental health issues. Vicky then moved to North Carolina where she has had the opportunity to work with geriatric populations on developmental stage issues, end of life issues, as well as dementia.
Vicky completed her Bachelor of Science (BS) in Psychology at Georgia Southern University and her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Augusta University. She has been trained in cognitive processing therapy (CPT), relaxation/mindfulness training, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and substance abuse treatment. Vicky’s theoretical orientation includes reality and choice therapy.
Vicky believes that there are many things in the world we cannot control, however there are many elements we can. We do not choose the conditions that we are born into or born with, however we do have a choice in how we respond to them. Vicky’s priority is to help you understand what you are experiencing and what is causing distress in order to make the changes you are looking for and capable of. Vicky attempts to empower her clients to feel control over their lives and choices to reach their goals. Whatever changes you want to make, Vicky is here to walk that journey with you.
You deserve dedicated time with a mental health professional — it can be life-changing.

If you’ve made it this far, you know you are interested in what healthy relationships could look like with more than two people involved. There are a lot of concerns and fears people have about expanding or opening up their relationships, but there can also be some amazing benefits. For some, being poly is a preference, and others it is an orientation. Therapy can help you find out.
If this is the kind of relationship you are in, if you are thinking about beginning one, or if you stumbled into one backwards, talking to a trained, poly-informed therapist can be an invaluable resource to both empower yourself and the people you love. Reach out to Thriveworks Charlotte today for help.
A quick set of terms:

It might not be easy, but with the right therapeutic help, you all can find the right relational, sexual, and emotional connections for you all.
