As someone who has lived and trained across cultures I understand how complex our stories can be. I offer a space to explore deeper patterns that shape our struggles, growth, and relationships.
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with 15 years of experience, and I am also an advanced doctoral candidate in psychoanalysis. Over the years, I have worked with adults facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship struggles, and personality difficulties. Many of my clients come to me feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or weighed down by old patterns. I provide a safe and supportive space where you can reduce anxiety, sadness, or self-doubt, strengthen relationships, set healthy boundaries, and begin meaningful healing.
I hold a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the Boston Graduate School of Psychoanalysis and bring advanced doctoral training in psychoanalysis. My approach is depth-oriented and psychodynamic, with a focus on uncovering patterns, exploring meaning, and creating lasting change through insight, support, and compassionate care.
I invite you to take the courageous step toward therapy, whether you are seeking relief from pain, clarity in confusion, or stronger connections with yourself and others. Together, we can create space for growth, authenticity, and healing. I would be honored to walk alongside you as you take the next step toward a more fulfilling life.
You deserve dedicated time with a mental health professional — it can be life-changing.

My go-to approach for depression counseling is CBT. I prefer CBT because it helps clients change negative patterns of thinking and find better ways to manage their symptoms.
The main tool I teach in depression counseling is the importance of routine and staying active.
I know that clients are making meaningful progress in depression counseling when the depressive symptoms start to decrease.
Clients can do the assigned homework that the clinician assigns.
The clients should try to remember to be honest in order to make the best progress in therapy.

“Counseling can help manage depression as it gives you a place to talk about how you’ve been feeling and learn more about your depression,” explains Corey Bisceglia-Kane, a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker at our Brookline office. “People with depression often struggle with achieving tasks and experiencing pleasure. Therapy can help you set small achievement and pleasure goals to begin to recover from depression and your therapist can keep you accountable to attaining those goals or troubleshoot if/why you were unable to do them.”
Many people who choose not to pursue or receive depression therapy make their decision based on things that simply aren’t true. One common myth is that all therapy entails is complaining about your problems. In reality, you’ll likely talk about the past but more of your therapy will revolve around what’s going on with you today and how you can learn to live a happier, more fulfilling life with healthy habits that support this happiness and fulfillment. Your counselor may give specific advice that will help you monitor and manage your depression, like writing in a diary, becoming more involved with friends and family, or keeping track of your moods.
If you are in the Brookline, MA area and you’re in search of depression treatment, Thriveworks can help. Our depression therapists, counselors, and psychologists can guide and support you as you learn to manage your depression symptoms, understand where your depression stems from, and live an overall better life.
