My goal as a therapist is to help clients recognize their strengths, develop healthier coping strategies, process difficult experiences, and build a greater sense of self-understanding and empowerment.
You may be here because life feels overwhelming or you're ready for something to change. I believe you deserve a space where you feel heard and accepted without judgment. I am a clinical independent social worker and a self-identified Afro-Latina clinician. My own understanding of culture and identity shapes how I connect with clients and families, and I recognize how cultural backgrounds, family experiences, and community can influence how we see ourselves. I'm especially mindful of those who feel caught between cultures, are navigating bicultural identities, or are balancing their own needs with family and cultural expectations.
Throughout my career, I've worked with children, adolescents, adults, and families facing complex medical and mental health challenges, including trauma, grief, loss, and major life transitions. I'm certified in TF-CBT and also use CBT and other evidence-based approaches. My style is warm, collaborative, strengths-based, and trauma-informed.
I believe therapy should be a place where you can be your authentic self, without having to explain or minimize your cultural experiences or family dynamics. I will meet you where you are, and my hope is to build a relationship based on trust, compassion, and connection, so you can move forward with confidence, knowing you don't have to navigate life alone.

Josalin Scott is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker. Her main area of specialty is helping individuals who are coping with depression, anxiety, ADHD/ADD diagnosis, self-harming, pet loss, family building concerns, and LGBTQ+ matters. Over the years, Josalin has gained experience by working with individuals who are coping with emotional abuse, deportation of family members, death of loved ones, and other painful experiences. She also works with individuals who seek treatment for anger management and stress management.
Josalin implements effective psychotherapy methods such as cognitive-behavioral, interpersonal, client-centered, and humanistic approaches, which can be effective in assisting clients to instill self-understanding by encouraging them to adopt new attitudes and feelings towards life situations. It is essential to keep in mind therapy is not a magic pill or a quick fix: Therapy is a healing process that necessitates participation and investment from the client and therapist alike. But in the end, making small changes to self-defeating behavior and coping with feelings of sadness, fear, anxiety, and pain can bring life-altering results. There is no judgment, only compassion and a safe environment to heal.
"Have a particular life obstacle you’re trying to overcome? Are you working to cope with everyday stressors? Couple or family conflicts? Coping with the loss of a loved pet? Need a LGBTQ+ affirming therapist? Seeking help from a licensed therapist is the best way to put things into perspective," says Josalin. "As a licensed psychotherapist, I am committed to the well-being of all humans big and small. I am dedicated to going above and beyond to assist with helping people empower themselves and find the answers they seek. I look forward to the prospect of supporting you in conquering the problems you are presently dealing with!"

Psychologists are mental health professionals that provide psychotherapy services and diagnoses for their clients. They have more research-focused training than most therapists, as they are more medically educated and receive a more general education about therapeutic approaches and theory.
Thriveworks psychologists in Boston, MA provide standard psychotherapy services, tailoring treatment to each client and their unique concerns. However, they can also provide diagnoses to clients when appropriate, something that therapists and counselors cannot do. Finally, in some states in the U.S., they are allowed to prescribe medication.
Psychological treatment at Thriveworks Boston is very individualized and specific to each client, which means that the duration of treatment is often varied depending on a client’s condition or disorder, the state of their symptoms, and their specific goals.
