Listening to music increases productivity and happiness at work. This, from researchers at Virginia Commonwealth University. The research team analyzed emotional and physiological responses to music, as well as how these responses affect work performance. They found that all music helps productivity and increases happy feelings at work, but certain occupations can best benefit from specific types of music. For example, songs with low complexity such as “Let It Be” by The Beatles, can best benefit people with creative careers. Songs with a fast tempo, on the other hand, are best for employees who have to complete simple, routine tasks. This study demonstrates that listening to music at work is beneficial.
