As a South-Asian therapist, I bring warmth, curiosity, and a deep respect for your unique story, drawing from both my professional training and my lived experience to create a space where you feel truly seen and supported.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 4 years of experience supporting individuals through life transitions, anxiety, grief, mood disorders, trauma, and substance use. I specialize in working with adults who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected—from themselves, their relationships, or their sense of purpose. Many of my clients come to therapy seeking clarity, healing, and a more grounded sense of self. Together, we work to understand patterns that no longer serve them, build resilience, and cultivate meaningful change.
I earned my Master’s in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University and I ground my approach in evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and dialectical behavioral therapy. I support clients in slowing down, tuning into their emotions and patterns, and making intentional choices.
I know that reaching out for support can feel vulnerable, and I want you to know you are not alone in whatever you are facing. If you’re ready to explore your story and take steps toward healing or growth, I’d be honored to walk alongside you. When you are ready, I invite you to take that next step—we will move forward at your pace together.

Therapy for men maintains a focus on the emotional and mental impacts of being a man in society, dealing with issues like the pressures of toxic masculinity and the traditional familial roles of men, among others. Thriveworks Blacksburg therapists who specialize in treating men work to create a safe space for them to emote and care for their mental well-being without fear of judgment.
Therapy for men has many aspects of traditional psychotherapy, but it also maintains a clear person-centered and humanistic approach. Thriveworks Blacksburg therapists will work with men to reach their therapy goals through self-reflection and introspection—uncovering specific emotional, behavioral, and mental patterns that are having a negative effect or are inhibiting personal growth and slowly working to change them over time.
Therapy for men at Thriveworks is conducted both in person and online by video. We encourage you to choose the option that works best for you.
Therapy for men can last for a few months or occur over the course of years, often continuing until the client feels that their goals are met and their desired growth has been achieved. However, it will likely last at least five months, as that is the average amount of time it takes for the therapeutic process to take effect and bring about lasting change.
If you’re wondering, “How could I benefit from counseling?” A handful of benefits for men can include:
You’ll gain a highly skilled, well-trained Thriveworks counselor to help you gain a better understanding of yourself, your relationships, your job, your family and more.
Recognizing the problems in your own life and looking for a place to get help is not a sign of weakness. We help our clients meet men problems head on with straightforward advice and proven solutions.
Don’t let yourself stay stuck. If you are struggling with any of the problems on the list above or any other issues in your life, it is time to reach out for help.
Many men grew up thinking that it wasn’t ok to show emotions, or to experience emotional pain. But we now know that holding in our pain only makes it worse, and can even contribute to problems in our personal life, relationships, family, work, and more.
Here at Thriveworks, we don’t like to see so many men struggling silently and alone. Our counselors know that men suffer from depression, anxiety and the other emotional concerns, and that these issues can be treated effectively with counseling. Our therapists want to help men experience fulfilling lives where they’re able to thrive.
Counseling is a proven and time-tested way to address anxiety and depression, and counseling geared to men is especially effective in helping guys improve their quality of life! Your Thriveworks counselor wants to help you feel better about yourself and your life. All men face emotional concerns at some point – don’t let these struggles control your life and happiness. Counseling for men works!
Do you have a problem that’s affecting your ability to function or enjoy your life? Is it even costing you jobs or promotions? Are your relationships suffering? Whatever it is that’s troubling you, it’s important to get help. No matter what issues you’re facing, our caring therapists are here to help. They have years of experience and expertise in helping men just like you with a wide variety of issues and concerns. Some of the men’s problems that we see most often include:
Actually, yes, there’s an added benefit to starting and continuing with therapy! I’m sure you don’t need anyone to tell you that statistics show you’re spending almost as many hours at work as you do at home. Maybe even more. But know this: The time you spend working can have a huge impact on your well-being, emotionally and physically. Job-related problems are a great reason to go to counseling.
Don’t worry. You’re not going on trial. The process is much more informal/casual than you might expect.
Your Thriveworks therapist will do their best to help you feel comfortable so you’re able to express your concerns in your own time, in your own way. You’ll find a safe, non-threatening environment where you’ll be able to get the help you’re looking for.
As for the duration of your therapy, it’s definitely not a one-size-fits-all situation. Some people only need to attend for 2 or 3 months, while others remain in therapy indefinitely.
At Thriveworks, we generally recommend 12 to 15 sessions. Depending on your specific individual issues and concerns, the duration of your therapy may be more or less than that.
At any rate, even when you feel you don’t need to attend therapy any longer, it’s recommended that you keep the Thriveworks phone number in your contacts!
Most men find it very helpful to “check in” with their therapist every few months, just to touch base.
Now it’s up to you! Take control of your own emotional well-being, and do something to improve the overall quality of your life. You can thrive, and we can help.
