We all face challenges that can leave us feeling isolated and in despair, but it’s important to remember that you’re not alone. As someone who has dealt with mental health challenges in the past, I have a genuine understanding for people who deal with it. I know the pain that comes with going through mental health issues. This has created empathy in me for others who deal with mental health challenges and makes my work extremely meaningful to me.
I earned my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with an emphasis in Substance Use Disorders from Colorado Christian University. My experience includes interning at an opioid outpatient facility and I'm eager to bring that foundation into private practice. I work with adolescents and adults up to middle age and I'm interested in treating anxiety, mood disorders, personality disorders, developmental issues, and relationship concerns. I also offer faith-based counseling and help people find meaning and purpose. Everyone deserves a space to process what's hard, whether they're in crisis or just need someone to talk to.
Person-Centered Counseling guides how I build relationships with clients and reminds me that each person is unique. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to address faulty thinking and negative beliefs, Emotion-Focused Therapy when issues are emotional, and Attachment theory to explore how family relationships shape the way we see ourselves and the world.
Mental health challenges can be hard and lonely to walk through—I've been there myself, and I'm blessed to have come out of it. I want to help you on your journey. In our sessions, you'll be accepted as you are and free to move at your own pace. I won't push any approach on you; I want you to feel like you have a real say in the direction we go.
