Christine Fatherree, LCSW, brings over 25 years of experience in the mental health field, working in a variety of roles to support adult clients seeking growth, healing, and clarity. She is deeply committed to helping individuals explore their concerns and make meaningful changes in their lives.
Christine works with adults experiencing depression, grief, life transitions, and trauma (though not military-related trauma). She understands that beginning therapy often starts with important questions—and that exploring those questions can lead to real transformation. Her therapeutic approach is tailored to each client’s needs, drawing from a range of evidence-based practices including traditional Talk Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing
(EMDR). This flexible approach allows Christine to offer personalized support that meets you where you are.
Christine is genuinely curious about your story and provides a safe, non-judgmental space to explore both your inner world and life circumstances. While therapy can be challenging, it can also bring moments of insight, relief, and even humor.
If you’re ready to begin the process of change, Christine is here to support you. Schedule an appointment when you’re ready to take the next step.

As a Latina woman, I understand the unique role we play not only in society but in our own family.
Selene Alvarado is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 10 years of experience. Her ideal client is someone who is struggling with depressive symptoms and needs to learn new coping skills in order to manage their depression. Their goal would be to be able to implement a variety of techniques to better help them get through their problems.
Selene has a Master of Science in Social Work San from Jose State University. She focuses on self-reflection and looking at ways clients can build their self-confidence. Through your relationship, you and her will focus on what is the most important thing for the client to improve.
As a Hispanic woman, Selene understands what the stigma is in Hispanic culture related to mental health. However, there is no shame in needing support and guidance. Mental health is just as important as our physical health. We all need someone at some point to help guide us through difficult periods of our lives.
You deserve dedicated time with a mental health professional — it can be life-changing.

My go-to approach for helping people in online therapy is CBT. I find the best benefit in cognitive behavioral therapy because you are able to get a wide variety of supplements for patients to work on their own.
I teach the following tools in online therapy: mood journals, cognitive distortions, and identifying negative thoughts.
I know a client is making meaningful progress in online therapy when they are able to recall previous sessions and express how they are implementing these techniques in their day-to-day.
Clients can supplement their time in online therapy by learning about the theory itself and being able to go deeper into the tools given in sessions.
To prepare for your first online therapy session you can make sure to be in a place where you feel comfortable.
With Thriveworks, Online therapy is an effective alternative to in-person therapy services in which a client can speak to a Thriveworks therapist remotely via online video conferencing. Online sessions are just as effective as in-person treatment, but they can also provide added benefits like reduced travel time, saving money on transportation or childcare, and increased access to care.
Online therapy works much like traditional in-person therapy but takes place through secure video conferencing. Clients can attend Online therapy from any safe place they choose that has access to the internet, whether that be their home or another easily accessible place. Like in-person treatment, a therapist will work with their client to address their concerns, create goals, and establish an effective treatment plan.
There is no best option for online therapy—instead, it’s best to focus on finding a provider that meets your specific needs and with whom you can form a professional connection with.
Yes, online therapy is just as effetive for many clients as in-person sessions.
Online therapy can last for a few months to years depending on the goals and symptoms of the client. The treatment process will be unique to each client and lend itself to their specific concerns, which means that the time it takes to treat them will always be different. Timing is also up to the client themselves; they are free to stop therapy whenever they please, especially if they feel they have reached their goals and addressed their concerns.
At Thriveworks, we accept most major insurance plans, allowing many clients to pay as little as $0–$50 per session with their co-pay. We also offer self-pay options for those out-of-network or without insurance. Self-pay rates for talk therapy range from $160 to $240 for intake sessions and $135 to $195 for follow-ups, depending on your state. For psychiatry services, self-pay intake sessions are $255–$375, with follow-ups ranging from $175–$300, also varying by state. More information on current self-pay costs is available on our pricing page.
