About
As a psychiatric nurse practitioner who has walked alongside people facing trauma, instability, and complex mental health needs, I approach care with deep empathy and a commitment to meeting you exactly where you are.
I am a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) with 8 years of experience supporting individuals across a wide range of emotional and behavioral concerns. I work with clients experiencing mood disorders, anxiety, trauma, personality disorders, and significant life transitions. Many clients come to me feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected, and I provide a compassionate, nonjudgmental space to help them gain clarity, stability, and a path forward.
I earned my Master of Science in nursing from Walden University. My approach integrates evidence-based medication management with a collaborative, trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and holistic perspective. I tailor treatment to each individual’s unique needs and goals while prioritizing safety, understanding, and empowerment throughout care.
Seeking support can feel overwhelming, but you do not have to navigate these challenges alone. I am here to walk alongside you with compassion, patience, and respect. Together, we will work toward relief from symptoms, improved coping skills, and meaningful, lasting change when you are ready to begin.

Just as no two people are alike, the pathway to recovery is different for everyone. I am a big believer in meeting a patient where they are at and helping them decide on and move towards the next steps to wellness, on their own terms.
Lance Pritchard is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with 10 years of experience in the mental health field. Lance is passionate about helping people identify and conquer the obstacles that stand in the way of them achieving the wellness and stability that they are striving for. He specializes in addictions, anxiety, depression, grief, and stress. After working in substance abuse treatment facilities for most of his career, Lance has accumulated a lot of experience working with folks struggling with addictions and the associated mood, relational, and other issues that frequently go along with that.
Lance completed his Master of Science (MS) in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Southern Adventist University in beautiful Collegedale, TN. He has a great deal of experience using behavioral interventions like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), as well as integrating motivational interviewing and some solution-focused ideas into his therapeutic work. Lance brings a combination of real-world experience and technical knowledge to the table in a way that helps his clients feel heard, understood, and cared for. He emphasizes creating lasting change through identifying and changing negative beliefs that a client may have about themselves, the world around them, and their own ability to interact with that environment.
Lance will work with you to amend impaired thinking, change negative behaviors, and to develop a meaningful spiritual connection with a higher power of your own understanding. Maintaining a sense of wellness or making lasting positive change in your life is difficult even when things are going well around you. When you consider the amount of turmoil and chaos present in our society today, it is causing people who would normally be very functional and stable to struggle and falter under the pressure. This environmental stress also hurts those who may already be struggling with mental health or addiction issues, causing these conditions to worsen. This is nothing to be ashamed of, but also not something to be ignored. Lance doesn't have any magical answers, and doesn't promise that things will suddenly get easier; but he has the experience, empathy, and compassion to help you on the next leg of your journey to wellness. If you are looking for someone to empathetically walk with you through your current struggles, and to help you navigate upcoming hurdles as well, you are welcome to schedule an appointment with Lance today!

As a motherless daughter who has walked the path of early loss and trauma, I offer a warm, seasoned heart to help you turn your deepest hurts into a lasting source of resilience and hope.
I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with experience helping individuals on their path to healing. My career began living in a tent and working as a lay therapist at an outdoor psychiatric hospital for adolescents. This experience, combined with growing up in a rural area during a time of family illness and the early loss of both my mother and father, deeply informs the perspective I bring to my work today. I typically work with individuals and families navigating trauma and addiction, women processing the grief of being Motherless Daughters, and those in the aging process seeking to integrate a lifetime of experience.
My style is supportive, relational, and grounded, born from years of witnessing the resilience of the human spirit. Whether you need structured CBT skills, Internal Family Systems (IFS) work, or deep grief processing, I provide a warm, intuitive space to co-create your wellness plan. I am passionate about helping you reclaim a sense of hope and possibility.
I approach my practice with curiosity and a genuine love for people (and dogs). Healing is a profound and rewarding labor, and it would be my privilege to support you through it. You deserve a space where you can finally be heard without judgment. If you are ready to bridge the gap between where you are and where you want to be, I welcome you to reach out.

As someone who experienced various kinds of trauma and who has had to deal with numerous life transitions and reinventions, I know the deep pain of feeling stuck and lost.
I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) with 12 years of experience supporting individuals navigating anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, trauma, anger, life transitions, substance use concerns, neurodivergence, and LGBTQ+ issues. I work with adults from diverse backgrounds and bring a creative, inclusive lens to therapy that honors each client’s unique experiences and strengths.
I earned my master’s degree in social work from New Mexico State University. My approach is person-centered, solution-focused, strength-based, and trauma-informed. I incorporate CBT, DBT skills, psychodynamic techniques, and somatic work to help clients better understand their thoughts, emotions, and nervous system responses.
My goal is to create a space where you feel heard, affirmed, and safe as you move through growth and healing. Together, we will build on your strengths, develop practical tools, and identify meaningful steps forward. I invite you to take the next step and schedule an appointment so we can begin this work together.

Anxiety therapy helps people better understand and manage their anxiety. Anxiety therapists at Thriveworks in Rio Rancho, NM can develop a treatment plan that will help you better manage your day-to-day anxiety or your anxiety disorder.
Anxiety therapy involves talking to a therapist about symptoms, potential causes, and more. Thriveworks Rio Rancho therapists will then work with you to determine where your anxiety might stem from and teach you effective coping mechanisms.
One of the best ways to deal with anxiety is to learn about your own anxiety: your symptoms, what triggers it, and what coping mechanisms have been effective in the past. When you learn what your anxiety is tied to, it can help you be mindful of what’s really happening as well as prevent and mitigate symptoms by processing and working through the issue in therapy. Other strategies that have been shown to help manage anxiety are meditation, challenging anxious thoughts, exercising, and journaling.
Common symptoms of anxiety include:
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) can be incredibly effective in treating anxiety and anxiety disorders. Other effective techniques include exposure therapy, Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and EMDR therapy.
Anxiety therapy is conducted both in person and online, depending on the individual’s preferences and their therapist’s availability. We suggest choosing the option that best suits your needs.
On average, people can tend to attend 15 to 20 session of anxiety therapy (five or more months). However, this number is heavily dependent on the type of anxiety that’s being treated and its severity, with many choosing to attend anxiety therapy for a longer period of time to ensure its effectiveness long-term.
Yes, it is worth going to therapy for anxiety. If you are struggling with regular anxious thoughts and feelings that are affecting your day-to-day life or you suspect that you have an anxiety disorder, you should seek expert anxiety help.
The licensed anxiety therapists at Thriveworks in Rio Rancho, NM have the experience and expertise to help clients manage their anxious thoughts and feelings. Anxiety can stem from a wide range of sources. Some people have anxiety due to traumatic experiences. Others have obsessive thoughts that lead them down anxiety rabbit holes. Anxiety can be triggered by experience, the environment, or epigenetics (when certain genes are triggered by environmental input). A therapist or counselor will be interested in uncovering the origins of someone’s anxiety in order to come up with the best treatment plan. But first, they will need to determine that someone is suffering from anxiety and not another health condition that can mimic anxiety.
Therapists at Thriveworks in Rio Rancho, NM may look for any of the following physical symptoms:
Anxiety counselors will also want to discuss the client’s thoughts and feelings. For example, what does someone with acute social anxiety disorder believe will happen if they encounter an acquaintance at the grocery store? Sometimes talking through underlying beliefs can help unravel irrational fears and worries.
Therapists determine the proper course of anxiety treatment by taking many factors into account, including the client’s wishes and feedback and the type of anxiety disorder. Fortunately anxiety counselors have many effective, evidence-based types of therapy at their disposal to reduce anxiety, including the following:
