As a woman of color and mother to a special needs child, I understand the unique challenges of navigating between the various roles that come with this background.
My name is Kaydean and I am a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. I work with ages 12 and up. I have been treating depression and anxiety since 2019, while working as a family nurse practitioner. I changed specialties when I became aware of the shortage in mental health and I wanted to help bridge that gap in client care. I typically work with adults who face high levels of stress. These adults sometimes have trauma or an underlying mood disorder and seek my help to maintain function and productivity in their daily lives.
I address these concerns through medication management and psychotherapy. I'm conservative in my treatment plans and will rule out underlying medical issues.
After all that you have been through, it makes sense that you are stressed and feeling like you have no more bandwidth left. Let's explore these feelings together.

Psychiatry allows people struggling to manage mental conditions or disorders to get access to medications that will make daily functioning easier, as well as work through any mental factors that might be causing or worsening their condition. Though medications can’t cure mental disorders, medication can make symptoms more manageable, making the process of psychotherapeutic treatment easier and more effective. Psychiatric care can be available through in-person psychiatry and online psychiatry, depending on where you live and your own preferences. However, psychiatric providers at Thriveworks in , FL specifically offer online psychiatry to their clients.
