About
Every person's story is unique. The process of interpreting that story can be transformative. As your partner in this process, I bring my clinical expertise and diverse background to support you on your journey toward growth.
I am a talk therapist with 5 years of experience supporting teens, adults, and seniors. My practice focuses on helping clients manage depression, anxiety, addiction, and trauma. This work is informed by over 20 prior years in community health, giving me a deep understanding of diverse client needs. My approach is collaborative and practical, targeting current symptoms and their effect on daily life. I believe strongly that "laughter is medicine for the soul" and I like to bring humor to my sessions when appropriate.
I hold a Master’s in Social Work from Simmons University. I employ a flexible, client-centered approach, drawing from a range of therapeutic modalities to best support my clients. These approaches include Emotionally Focused Therapy, Psychoanalytic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Christian Counseling, and Motivational Interviewing.
I foster a relaxed and encouraging space where you can safely explore life's many struggles. While I understand the importance of the past, my focus is firmly on your present strengths. I will partner with you to take an active role in developing a personalized plan for your healing. If you're ready to begin, reach out to me today!

My go-to approach for helping people in couples counseling is the Gottman Method. I find this to be one of the best methods to use due to all the research that supports it.
I teach the Gottman Method along with communication exercises that couples can use outside of therapy sessions.
I know a couple is making meaningful progress when they are smiling and having a good time using activities taught through the Gottman Method.
I encourage my clients to read any of Dr. Gottman's books outside of therapy sessions and perform some of the many activities he provides.
To prepare for your couples counseling session, just be ready to be honest! Most growth occurs through honesty, even when discussing hard topics.

The Gottman Method of couples therapy is a research-supported approach designed to enhance relationships by bolstering the bond between partners, resolving conflicts, and fostering shared meaning in their relationship through comprehensive assessments and tailored interventions that improve communication, trust, and the overall health of the partnership.
If you’re facing persistent relationship problems, communication breakdowns, or unresolved conflicts that are impacting your emotional well-being and happiness, Couples/marriage therapy may be beneficial for you.
While marriage and couple’s counseling is typically recommended for couples who are experiencing persistent or severe relationship issues, any relationship can benefit from attending these sessions.
Marriage and couples counseling at Thriveworks is conducted both in person and online by video. We encourage you to choose the option that works best for you and your partner.
On average, couples attend marriage and couples counseling for 12 weeks. However, couples & marriage counseling may last longer or shorter, dependent on the couples’ needs, the challenges they’d like to work through, and the pace of their progress.
