About
As a lifelong Idahoan, I understand the struggle to find mental health care and I returned to my home state to be a provider for those seeking a compassionate and empathetic counselor.
I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) with 8 years of experience supporting individuals as they navigate anxiety, OCD, depression, and relationship and family concerns. I believe the therapeutic relationship is one of the most important factors in meaningful change, and I work collaboratively with clients to clarify their goals and align their values with the life they want to build.
I earned my master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Northern Arizona University. My work is grounded in a cognitive behavioral framework, with treatment tailored to each individual’s needs. I frequently use exposure and response prevention therapy, particularly when working with clients experiencing anxiety and OCD.
I strive to create a supportive, empowering environment where you feel understood and challenged in healthy ways. Together, we will identify effective strategies to enhance your well-being and strengthen your confidence as you move forward. I look forward to partnering with you on your path toward meaningful and lasting growth.

As a retired Army non-commissioned officer and multiple-tour combat veteran, I relate personally to the many challenges of reintegration to the civilian world and combat-related stress.
I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) with 11 years of experience supporting individuals through life’s most challenging moments. I have worked in inpatient, outpatient, and group treatment settings, and I have extensive experience working with military veterans, law enforcement, first responders, and individuals affected by post-traumatic stress. I help clients navigate stress, anxiety, trauma, addiction, and anger by creating a safe, supportive, and grounded space where meaningful healing and introspection can begin.
I earned my master’s in social work from Northwest Nazarene University, where I developed a strong foundation in evidence-based practices and client-centered care. My approach includes talk therapy, supportive services, lifestyle changes, healthy living planning, activity scheduling, outdoor engagement, and meditation to help clients reach their goals.
I look forward to meeting you and partnering with you on your path to healing. By taking this first step and scheduling an appointment, you are choosing to prioritize your emotional health and overall well-being. I am committed to helping you build resilience, discover new strengths, and move toward a healthier, more empowered version of yourself.

My go-to approach for working with anxiety is somewhat eclectic, depending on the source of the anxiety. Generally speaking, I work to provide information about stress and relaxation responses and work to elicit a relaxation session using a variety of relaxation techniques. I also work with thoughts and beliefs about stress, anxiety, and other topics affecting anxiety.
I teach the following tools for anxiety: breathing techniques, muscle relaxation techniques, using movement to release tension (if appropriate), challenging negative or unhelpful thoughts, distraction, and other coping skills.
I know a client is making progress when they report subjective experiences of feeling more in control of their symptoms and objective changes in how they function in the situation causing anxiety.
Clients can supplement their time in therapy for anxiety by practicing and using the techniques taught in sessions in their everyday lives and by actively confronting and challenging thoughts and other cognitive processes that amplify symptoms.
To prepare for your first session for anxiety, you can identify the situations that lead to feeling anxiety and stress, notice what symptoms are present, and let me know what has helped or not helped in the past.
Anxiety therapy helps people better understand and manage their anxiety. Anxiety therapists at Thriveworks in Meridian, ID can develop a treatment plan that will help you better manage your day-to-day anxiety or your anxiety disorder.
Anxiety therapy involves talking to a therapist about symptoms, potential causes, and more. Thriveworks Meridian therapists will then work with you to determine where your anxiety might stem from and teach you effective coping mechanisms.
One of the best ways to deal with anxiety is to learn about your own anxiety: your symptoms, what triggers it, and what coping mechanisms have been effective in the past. When you learn what your anxiety is tied to, it can help you be mindful of what’s really happening as well as prevent and mitigate symptoms by processing and working through the issue in therapy. Other strategies that have been shown to help manage anxiety are meditation, challenging anxious thoughts, exercising, and journaling.
Common symptoms of anxiety include:
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) can be incredibly effective in treating anxiety and anxiety disorders. Other effective techniques include exposure therapy, Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and EMDR therapy.
Anxiety therapy is conducted both in person and online, depending on the individual’s preferences and their therapist’s availability. We suggest choosing the option that best suits your needs.
On average, people can tend to attend 15 to 20 session of anxiety therapy (five or more months). However, this number is heavily dependent on the type of anxiety that’s being treated and its severity, with many choosing to attend anxiety therapy for a longer period of time to ensure its effectiveness long-term.
