I’m Jacob Glose, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Missouri and Arkansas with over 10 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. I provide individual and couples therapy and specializes in treating anxiety, depression, trauma, and relational challenges. I am trained in EMDR and offer trauma-informed care for clients looking to process difficult past experiences and move forward with more clarity and stability. My approach to therapy is collaborative and honest. I believe a strong therapeutic relationship is essential.
I build that through consistency, trust, & clear communication. Early sessions focus on understanding what brings you to therapy, identifying your goals, and creating a plan that fits your needs. From there, the work involves exploring patterns, thoughts, and emotions that may be contributing to distress or keeping you stuck.
Beginning therapy can feel uncertain, but I work to create a supportive and steady space. My approach helps clients make sense of their experiences and build the insight and tools needed to face life’s challenges with more compassion, confidence, and direction.

My go-to approach for helping people in PTSD/trauma therapy is to help them realize they can be safe in the present from the trauma they experienced in the past.
I use a variety of tools from trauma-informed therapy, such as ACT, somatic and mindfulness techniques, and grief/loss therapy.
I know a client is making progress when they can display a full range of emotions without losing control because they have learned how to effectively use coping skills that help them in their daily functioning.
Journaling is an important way to address negative thoughts and emotions. The client can begin the process of challenging those negative and traumatic thoughts and decide if they are still valid in the present.
To prepare for your first PTSD/trauma therapy session, be kind and patient with yourself. The impact of trauma can sometimes take a while to address, but you are worth the effort!
At Thriveworks, Trauma/PTSD therapy involves dedicated efforts to address and navigate through past and/or recent traumatic events. Therapists specializing in trauma create a secure environment to process and heal from these experiences, aiming to reduce trauma-related symptoms and enhance overall quality of life.
Our Thriveworks providers use Trauma/PTSD therapy treatments like eye movement desensitization and reprocessing EMDR, CBT, and exposure therapy with the goal of helping clients process the traumatic events they have experienced so that they can to start feeling safe and secure again.

If a client is working through a single traumatic event that occurred as an adult, trauma or PTSD therapy may only take a few months, but in general, it can take a year or more to effectively treat trauma symptoms and PTSD. The duration of treatment is highly dependent on the client and the severity of their symptoms.
The success rate of therapy for PTSD depends entirely on the individual’s symptoms, commitment to attending sessions, and personal abilities.
